You'll identify insights and tasks that can be automated. You'll have the opportunity to identify points of improvement in technical processes and propose new ways to do it through automation, help our customer to resolve their pain points and, through co-creation, define solutions that allow improving the efficiency of their operations. Your primary responsibilities include: Strategic Design and Analysis of Distributed Systems: Design, analyze, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. Proactive Reliability Management and Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotation, engage with product teams to fix production outages, and carry forward action items to improve ongoing reliability. Empowering Tools and Automation for Enhanced Reliability: Develop effective tooling, alerts, and response to both identify and address reliability risks including automatic problem detection and mitigation. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Planning, installing, configuring, and implementing z/OS * Installing, migrating, monitoring, securing, and enabling z/OS * Planning, configuring, and implementing z/OS for continuous availability across planned or unplanned outage of any single hardware or software element. * Planning, installing, testing, and implementing z/OS service level upgrade and patches. * Planning and implementing configuration changes to enhance z/OS performance. * Creating and deploying z/OS operating system * Providing technical assistance to IBM Infrastructure programmers and end users. * May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support * Providing and maintaining documentation for end users **Preferred technical and professional experience** * 3-5 years of experience as a z/OS systems programmer * Experience with z/OS, z/OS UNIX System Services, SMP/E, TCPIP, RACF, JCL, ISPF, SMS, z/OSMF, and other standard z/OS components/products * Experience with programming languages, such as REXX, JSON, and python * Understanding of SYSPLEX, IODF, IOCDS, FICON, CATALOG, control units and standard z/OS configuration best practices * Experience or familiarity with Jira and Problem/ Change tools * Knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies including zCX * Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
