**POSITION: MANAGING DIRECTOR, CASH MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS - NORTH AMERICA & CARIBBEAN**
**_Purpose_**
The Managing Director, Cash Management Products providesexecutiveleadership,sponsorshipanddecisionsupportforallProductsfor Global Transaction Banking, with a specific focus on NorthAmerica andCaribbean. In addition, the MD provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
**_Accountabilities_**
+ Leadsanddrivesacustomerfocusedculturethroughouttheirteamtodeepenclientrelationshipsand leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
+ Leadstheestablishmentofstrategicbusinessplansforbuildingthebusinessintheregionby:
+ Developingaclearvisionandbusinessstrategythatis alignedwithandsupportiveoftheoverall Bank strategy and business objectives
+ Leadingthedevelopmentofstrategicproposalsandbusinesscasesthatalignwithoverall business, division and Bank objectives
+ Overseeing the development and sustainment of key strategic alliances, partnerships and stakeholderrelationshipstoensurethatappropriateresourcesareallocatedtothosebusinessobjectives
+ Acquiringandmaintainingadeepunderstandingofmarketplace,strategies,keycompetitors, offerings, market positioning, client segmentation, technology trends, etc.
+ Leadstheexecutionofstrategicregionalbusinessplansby:
+ Leading the creation and implementation of growth and revenue generating strategies, business plansandprogramsfocusedonincreasingmarketshare,revenues,performanceandprofitability
+ EstablishingandcultivatingmutuallycollaborativerelationshipswiththeleaderswithintheBank to generate profitable customer relationships
+ Supportingthedevelopmentandmonitoringofprofitplansandfinancialobjectives
+ Communicatingandmonitoringannualbusinessplanswithallkeystakeholders
+ Leadsthemanagementofoperational,technology,risk,complianceandexpenserequirementsforthe business by:
+ Creating an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of theirrespective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the GlobalSalesPrinciples,whileensuringtheadequacy,adherenceto andeffectivenessofday-to- day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
+ Directingday-to-dayactivitiesinamannerconsistentwiththeBank’sriskcultureandtherelevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
+ Ensuringthatappropriatereporting,regulatoryandcomplianceissuesandclientcomplaints, claims, and legal actions are addressed within required timeframes
+ Ensuringdirectexpensesarecontainedandcostseffectivelymanaged
+ Ensuringthatoperationalandtechnologyrequirementsareresourcedandemployedtomeetthe needs of the business and clients and by establishing and driving alliances with internal and external IT suppliers as required
+ MonitoringRegulatoryrequirementsissuesandtrendstoensureongoingawareness.Ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken upon the incidence of non-compliance
+ Buildsahigh-performanceenvironmentandimplementsapeoplestrategythatattracts,retains,develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours;communicating vison/values/businessstrategy;and,managingsuccession anddevelopment planning for the team.

+ UndergraduatedegreeinBusinessorarelateddisciplineand/orMBA
+ Minimum of10yearsrelevantexperienceinthetransaction banking services
+ 10+years’experienceinthedevelopmentandmanagementofbankingproductsandportfolios
+ Thoroughunderstandingofthebusinessproductsportfolios
+ ThoroughknowledgeoftheBank'sproductdistributionnetworks
+ Strongunderstandingofthetechnologicalplatformunderlyingthebusinessproductsandhowthey support the delivery, distribution and client experience
+ Provenabilitytodriveandmanageabusinessline'sProfitandLoss
+ Demonstratedabilityandexperienceindevelopingandimplementingstrategicplanfor a technology intensive business
+ A track record of delivering results in a large multi-level global organization where it is key to understandinternalrelationshipsandinfluencedecisionsoutsidethescopeofdirectauthority
+ Theincumbentleads,manages,makesdecisionsandactsforGTB Productsinanindependent fashion, with a limited degree of consultation/direction
