The Role:
As a Venue Technician (Electrical Apprentice), you’ll gain broad, practical experience working alongside seasoned professionals, supporting everything from lighting and power systems to HVAC and scoreboard operations. You’ll work event days and non-event days – learning the ropes of live event tech, facility maintenance, and electrical systems in one of NZ’s most iconic venues.
You’ll also begin your NZ Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Trade Level 4) within six months of starting.
What you’ll be doing:
Operations & Events
Assist with venue lighting, power, and air con needs for live shows and eventsMonitor and maintain electrical and facility systemsSet up follow spots, scoreboards, and other technical systemsWork closely with production teams and touring crewsSupport the delivery of safe, efficient event-day operationsMaintenance & Training
Learn from experienced electricians and techniciansHelp manage regular testing and tagging of portable electrical equipmentAssist with fault finding and repair of systems including fire, plumbing, HVAC and audioTrack power usage, emergency lighting compliance, and building services maintenanceGain exposure to facility asset management systems and building management systems
