Core Platform Area Software & Diagnostics mission is to provide digital capabilities to enable end-to-end development, deployment and diagnostics of embedded software for all Truck Divisions and Business Areas/Units within Volvo Group as well as external partners. ​ 

 

We are hiring a Principal Solution Architect in the Vehicle Software Factory value flow and domain. We are looking for curious minds with a passion for innovation that are interested in the future of the software defined vehicle and in developing digital services to support the engineering community within the Volvo Group developing world class embedded software.

 

Your mission is to lead the work for the end-to-end solution architecture of the Vehicle Software Factory value flow and domain with defining and designing the architecture for applications and digital services within the Vehicle Software Factory area. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and enterprise architects as well as other solution architects and development teams. Your focus will be on the technical aspects of architectural solutions and how they meet business needs. In your work you will follow established principles and guidelines, ensuring adherence to standards. You will also mentor and coach other architects and developers in our teams.

 

Leading by example and being a role model for Group Digital & IT is essential. You will represent us and our values outside our domain towards stakeholders both within Group Digital & IT but also Volvo Group Connected Solutions, Truck Divisions and Business Areas/Units within Volvo Group.

 

Main responsibilities:

Responsibility and accountability of the end-to-end solution architecture of the value flow Work closely with business stakeholders, digital product owners, enterprise architects, business analysts, solution architects and software engineers during early product phases to clarify requirements and drive and specify architectural solutions Produce design artifacts including high-level and detailed design documents and system workflows Ensure cybersecurity aspects are incorporated in proposed architectural solutions Communicate solutions to business stakeholders as well as solution architects and developers Assure that technical solutions are part of the long-term strategic development plan Stay up to date with significant technological developments that may impact the business Your responsibilities will also include leading cross functional teams within architecture Who are you?

You have broad architectural knowledge in the vehicle software area. You have a proven track record of working with stakeholders internally as well as on the business side to discuss and understand the needs and translate them into technical solutions. Also, you have broad experience and knowledge of software development and delivery of digital services. We also believe you have experience of leading change related to the architecture area. 

 

Required skills: 

10+ years of IT experience, whereof 5+ years as a solution architect or similar  Proven leadership skills as lead architect  Strong communication skills and able to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences ranging from technical teams to senior leaders   Experience from agile way of working and DevSecOps  Experience of working with vehicle software development technologies  Experience of cutting-edge cloud technologies, microservices architecture and orchestration  Knowledge of software defined vehicle and modern automotive software platforms and architectures

 

Education required:

Relevant university degree, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. 

 

Location:
