Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institutionMinimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentMinimum of 5 years management and/or supervisor experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Journeyman Tool & Die MakerExperience in the investment casting industrySupervision/leadership experience in a tool and die manufacturing shopLeadership/supervision with regards to CNC equipmentDie assembly experience in the wax and plastic injection processesExperience with lathes, wire EDM, CNC machining

 

Job Summary

 

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Tooling Manufacturing Supervisor at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility. The supervisor role is the first level of authority in the Tooling Business Center providing leadership, coaching and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, meeting customer demand, solving problems, eliminating waste and meeting goals. 

 

This is a 3rd  shift position working Monday-Friday 9:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.; flexibility and availability to adjust hours will be needed, including weekends.  The Operations Manager is able and willing to work with the candidate of choice to ensure there is a good work-life balance.

Job Responsibilities

 

Directs assigned areas in the manufacturing, processing, or support areas to meet customer quality, output, and on-time delivery.Prepares daily production reports and attends department daily production meeting at Daily Management board.Setting, in concurrence with the Operations Manager, the daily production and quality goals and ensures that these goals are achieved for the assigned areasCompletes timekeeping requirements for assigned hourly associates on a daily basisSchedules associates shifts, approves overtime, vacations, and other personnel administrative requests with manager approvalEnsures associates are taking all breaks and lunches within the required time periodAnalysis and planning of short- and long-term department requirementsInterfaces with other departments to ensure short- and long-term goals and deadlines are accomplishedWalks shop floor to ensure all associates are maintaining productivity standardsEmployee relations: promoting teamwork, coaching, and counseling associatesEnsures associates are in compliance with all company policies and proceduresCoaches associates in their continuous improvement efforts.Ensure all Environmental and Safety policies are followedMonitor material inventory and work with Procurement to ensure material flow supports production schedules

 

Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to associates in assigned areaWork with the Team Leads to develop and execute training plans for all operators to ensure they have the skills needed to do their jobs and are sufficiently cross trained to optimize resource usage safely and correctlyDirect the implementation of Howmet Business System initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow and TMP improvements
