Project Description 

The Volvo Trucks Plant in Tuve, Gothenburg, produces heavy trucks for the global market. As part of Volvos strategy of adapting the products to the customer requirements, many of the vehicles produced in the plant contains non-standard parts and components. There is a wish to redesign the process of handling these parts to make it more efficient. 

 

Task: 

Use a structured method to map the existing flows of non-standard parts inside the plant.   Identify the stakeholders of the process and gather their requirements.  Use your knowledge in logistic principles to propose a new logistic process that fulfills the requirements.  Visualize the new process and compare it to the existing process.

We require the work to be performed by a team of two students. Please state the name of your partner in your application. Applicants without partner will not be considered. 

 

Main location for the project group will be the assembly plant in Tuve, Gothenburg. The students are expected to spend most of the time on-site, collaborating with the engineering, logistics and production staff. Therefore we require at least one student to speak Swedish.
