Test Engineer Product Validation
**Job Summary** If you are an Industrial Control Application or Automation Engineer, Emerson has an exciting role for you! As an Engineer Product Validation, you will play a pivotal role in validating the functionality and performance of our next-generation automation controller product lines. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a dynamic R&D team, supporting the development of high-quality products that set industry standards. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + As a Test Engineer, you will use your industrial automation control system proven experience in validating next-gen Automation Controller and IO modules. + Collaborate in small, self-motivated teams with the Product Owner to derive requirements for validation and verification plans. Break down problems and estimate time for development tasks, story points, etc. + Participate in all phases of system test development from product definition to production release. Develop Test Strategies and derive Test Requirements from Product & System specifications. + Design efficient Test Systems and Automated Test Fixtures to ensure adequate Test coverage. + Demonstrate your solid understanding in PLC programming languages, including Ladder, FBD, SFC, and scripting to develop test application. Also, demonstrate your expertise in Ethernet-based Industrial protocols such as MODBUS TCP, PROFINET IO, EtherCAT, IEC61850, DNP3, IEC104, etc., and your ability to develop automation scripts for system-level tests. + Make technical presentations to peers and managers on the details of architecture, design, and technical risks. + Understand the product development lifecycle and its different stages, with exposure to both waterfall and agile projects. + Use excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical architects on sophisticated technical issues. **Who You Are:** You can take quick and significant actions in fast-paced, unexpected situations. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are outstanding at spotting and seizing opportunities. You can deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner, adjusting the communication content / style to meet the needs of diverse collaborators. You like to encourage the expression of diverse ideas and opinions. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. + 3-5 years of experience in Industrial automation and related products like Programmable controllers - PLCs, DCS, I/O modules. + Proficiency in Industrial Communication protocols like MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, ETHERCAT, IEC61850 Client and Server, IEC104 Client/Server, DNP3, HMI/SCADA, etc. + Programming skills using scripting languages like Python.
