KBR is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Technical Writer familiar with editing DoD Certification Letters, Discrepancy Letters, Exercise Letters, and conducting reviews of Technical Packages used for the certification of IFF equipment, systems, and procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
In depth understanding of IFF certifications, with background knowledge of IFF equipment and platforms.Conducts all technical writing efforts to most current version of the Air Force tongue and quill.Research, develop, and/or update content for DoD Certification Letters, Discrepancy Letters, Exercise Letters using software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro.Prepare written documents following standard guidelines for US Air Force technical publications.Analyzes standard contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, and related reports for assigned contracts to develop required technical publications.Gather and research technical information, including engineering and development information, for use in documentation activities.Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports.Coordinates technical publication activities with internal/external customers.Provides activity and status reports to management.Experience routing and approving Technical Standards, Test Requirements, and other sensitive document requests from DoD, NATO, FMS, and Industry partners.Assist planning efforts for annual User Working Group to include (but not limited to) exposition services, exhibitors, contract reviews, etc.Conduct final project financial closeout and archive files for future reference.Other duties as assigned.Work Environment:

Bachelors Degree in an applicable technical field or equivalent experience and excellent written communication skills. 2 years technical writing and copy editing experience. In lieu of formal education, 8 years of experience in the Technical Publications field, preferably U.S. Air Force.Active Security ClearanceMust be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).Preferred Experience:
Must have knowledge and understanding of DoD International AIMS Program Office Publication functions using U.S. Air Force practices and guidelines.Experience with the preparation of varied types of technical documentation for IFF and weapons systems.Preferred knowledge working with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office Suite.Ready to Make a Difference?
