As a Technical Service Representative you will provide technical support and assistance, to maintain adequate records of the actual conditions and application standards witnessed on site. You will also establish and to report whether Sigma Coatings / Amercoat products and systems are applied following the specified standards and recommended procedures, to protect PPG PMC against claims and complaints, whilst enhancing the customer satisfaction. You will be reporting to FTS Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure that at all times the guidelines, as provided by the Field Technical Service Department BU PMC are followed.
To keep accurate and detailed records of the project(s) and have the information correctly transferred to the right standard reporting forms in time, to ensure that PPG interests are protected.
To attend the assigned projects and conduct your job in an accurate and professional manner.
In case of any deviation of the specified standards which may or could be the cause of a claim or complaint, immediately inform the responsible Field Technical Service Manager providing all relevant information.
To give technical assistance to all parties involved on site (i.e. yard, contractor / sub-contractor, and any other user of our products) in respect to our products.
To keep updated on the Sigma Coatings / Amercoat products, systems and procedures and use this to the benefit of PPG PMC.
To pass on any relevant information of the Sigma Coatings / Amercoat or competitors' products to the Country Field Technical Service Manager or Global Field Technical Service Manager (Global FTS Office).
To be aware of the content of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and be familiar with the local safety rules and regulations and follow them.
To handle complaints carefully and in such a way that your actions and verbal or written reports / comments do not result in a commitment or assumption of responsibility that is outside of your authorities, which could result in PPG PMC being held liable.
In case of complaint (potential claim) the responsible Field Technical Service Manager must be informed (involved) immediately.
Qualifications
Education level : High school / Polytechnic School / Ships-officer or seaman qualification or similar
Experience : Marine / Yard or Contractor experience with a coating background
Computer skills : Microsoft Word / Excel / E-mail & Internet communication
Fluency in business English
Decision making, problem solving whilst safeguarding PPG interests
Customer oriented
Initiative, creative
Representative in dress code and behaviour
Know how and skills
