KBR is looking for an Entry level Aerospace Engineer to support real-time operations of the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI), an ISS-hosted payload mission to collect measurements of forest vertical structure using waveform Lidar.
Day-to-day duties include:
· Real-time command and control of the payload from the Science and Mission Operations Center (SMOC) at Goddard Space Flight Center.
· Assembly and uplink of mission planning products to the payload for operations control.
· Development, maintenance, and execution of Mission Operations ground tools, including scripts, display generation, databases, and operations procedures.
· Collection and analysis of payload health and status metrics.
· On-call operations support for unexpected anomaly resolution.
Skill Requirements:
· Working knowledge of scripting languages.
· General understanding of orbital mechanics.
· Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly.
· Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and written skills.
· Ability and willingness to multi-task and produce innovative methods to solve problems.
· Work well with a team.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Desired Skills
· Experience with Windows and Linux.
· Experience with Python and Bash.
· Flight operations experience.
Education and/or Experience
B.S. in engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science and 0-2 years of directly related experience and/or training.
In lieu of formal education, 8 – 10 years of directly related work experience.
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

Basic Compensation:
$80,800 to $121,100
This range is for the Greenbelt, Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
