The Operational Analysis (OPAN) team provides mission-critical expertise and skills to both internal and external clients:
Conducts scientific and technical studies and presents the results to customers
Analyzes the operational performance of products and demonstrates system performance
Develops concepts, algorithms, and modeling for new and existing products
Supports system architecture and functionality development for new products
Assists in sales activities by creating tailored, customer-specific scenarios and solutions
Performs verification and validation of customer requirements in real-world settings
What do you do at OPAN?OPAN provides internal and external Thales clients with insight into the operational performance of defense systems on board ships. \"Performance\" refers to analyses such as determining at what distance a threat can be detected by a system or calculating the trajectory of a projectile to assess the probability of interception.
The defense systems include products like radars, optical sensors, command & control systems, defense equipment (e.g., guns), and threat scenarios.
The multidisciplinary OPAN team develops its own simulation framework, models products, and performs simulations across the entire system chain on a ship. Simulation data is analyzed and processed using tools like MATLAB and Python to create studies and operational performance analyses for clients.
Within OPAN, you can specialize in different domains. You’ll work independently and collaboratively with OPAN colleagues and other departments to serve external clients. You will receive thorough onboarding and mentorship within the team.
