Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer II advocates and supports the Corporate WIN Strategy to improve overall supplier quality and ensure full quality compliance. The position will provide a range of expertise to ensure that incoming materials are free of flaws and function as specified.
Essential Functions:
• Establishes and maintains a Supplier Quality system that is effective in producing, measuring and maintaining a supply base measured by DPPM.
• Ensures compliance to procedures outlined in the Supplier Quality Manual.
• Revises and implements changes as required.
• Participates in supplier reviews and provides input as to supplier quality.
• Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
• Ensures reliability and accuracy of products provided by the supply base.
• Ensures that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner.
• Coordinates with suppliers all initiatives relating to supplier quality performance.
• Tracks performance trends and performs quality trend analysis from supplier base and facilitates corrective actions as appropriate.
• Leads supplier development activities for dock-to-stock program.
• Utilizes lean manufacturing, error proofing, and continuous improvement initiatives to support Supplier base by assisting in development of robust processes that assures quality products and services.
• Provides support to customers relative to supply-based issues.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in engineering is required
• 2-5 years of related experience (Quality Engineering preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection, quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations.
• Must have ability to effectively solve problems, assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions, to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools, to establish goals and objectives to complete projects, and to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Prefer ASQ certification: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification: and/or ISO Internal Auditor certification.
