Supplier Development Engineer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Onsite Assessments across the APAC region to evaluate supplier capabilities for new sourcing activities and facilitate supplier onboarding by ensuring alignment on technical specifications, quality standards, and operational expectations via PPAPs with plant quality personnel.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing, to identify and qualify new suppliers that align with Allegion’s strategic and sourcing goals and ensure the supply base supports business growth.Lead supplier development initiatives by identifying gaps in supplier performance and collaborating with suppliers to improve processes through capability studies, FMEA, MSAs/GRRs, control plans, and error-proofing techniques.Support New Product Development (NPD) programs by facilitating supplier readiness for Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) activities, including Characteristics Review Process, yield reviews, and run-at-rate activities.Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and support other supplier-related initiatives, such as scorecards, risk assessments, and performance tracking, to monitor compliance and enable data-driven decision-making.Collaborate with global and regional teams to develop and document standardized supplier development processes, tools, and metrics.Act as a technical liaison between Allegion and suppliers, ensuring clear communication of requirements, expectations, and feedback.Train internal teams and suppliers on quality tools, processes, and procedures to ensure consistent application and understanding of Allegion’s requirements.
