How will you make an impact?

The Senior Director/General Manager (GM) is responsible for product line strategy and day-to-day execution of a $500M business in Cell Culture Media and Plastics. Cell Culture Ecosystem has a broad reagent portfolio supporting research, drug discovery and production, with a global footprint with 10 manufacturing sites across NA, EMEA, and Asia. This position will lead global portfolio strategies, drive innovative solutions to customer issues, provide market leadership in the development of innovative products, and lead day-to-day operations for growth and profitability.

What will you do?

Develop long-range product strategies and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of the product platform (i.e., establish and drive strategic relationships at appropriate levels with customers, suppliers and industry opinion leaders).Lead the business with P&L responsibility, consistently achieving both top and bottom-line financial metrics in a complex, dynamic, evolving market.Serve as product champion with internal partners, regional teams, and directly with key accounts. An effective performer will maintain close interaction with field organization (e.g., sales and technical support) through training and active participation in the sales process, including customer visits, pricing tactics, and customer support.Champion successful launches through requirements, development, and commercialization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the GM ensures the customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs).Lead the life cycle of the existing product portfolio. Responsibilities include three-year product line strategies, pricing /margin optimization, management across the customer value continuum, and customer intimacy efforts.Lead a robust business team by hiring, developing and engaging hard-working and motivated employees.Responsible for robust partnership with marketing and commercial to drive end-to-end cell culture workflow solutions that meet customers' expectations and buying journey to enhance market share.Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, R&D, and product development teams to align go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and sales tools with market needs and technological advancements for business growth.Partner effectively with business leaders across various segments, groups, and divisions as well as with senior leadership across Thermo Fisher Scientific to drive integrated solutions and value for customers.

How will you get here?

7-10 years of experience in strategic marketing and product management; MBA preferredDeep understanding of the life sciences market and proven ability to set strategic direction for new/high-growth business.Exhibit strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Consistent track record of proactively driving programs forward with a focus on financial resultsDemonstrated ability to drive growth through product innovationAbility to build, manage, and inspire teams across a matrixed environment; effective at influencing others and forming relationships; collaborative approachComfortable with ambiguity and able to quickly to adjust to changes in the market as neededExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilitiesExperience working in a regulated environment and commercial experience is preferredAbility to travel up to 30% both domestically and internationally

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $212,000.00–$317,975.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
