**Key Responsibilities:**
The Senior Specialist – Content & Marketing Support is responsible for leading the communication efforts and social media program for United Cargo. As the primary copywriter and content creator, this position supports both external and internal communications—ranging from social media posts to sales collateral, customer communications, and internal messaging, including emergency communications when needed. The Senior Specialist collaborates closely with key stakeholders across Sales Leadership, Marketing, Corporate Communications, and the Sales Training team, as well as with external partners, to ensure messaging is aligned with brand and initiatives are effectively executed. In addition to managing United Cargo’s social media presence, this position supports broader marketing efforts through compelling storytelling, brand consistency, and targeted communication strategies.
**Communication & Copywriting:**
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for all Cargo division communication needs—supporting both internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include developing content for leadership presentations, industry interview responses, Cargo and customer newsletters, website updates, Cargo Connection articles, and all-staff meeting materials.
+ Serve as the primary copywriter and content developer for United Cargo, producing high-quality materials including articles, white papers, social media posts, collateral, landing pages, and internal communications.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholder departments to craft executive messaging and thought leadership content that translates strategic priorities into clear, compelling narratives for customer, partner, and internal audiences.
+ Navigate necessary reviews and approvals, including Legal, Brand, and Corporate Communications.
+ Facilitate internal meetings, including monthly team meetings with multiple stakeholders and speakers, as well as annual team events—supporting agenda development, presentation content, and leadership involvement as needed.
+ Develop and execute emergency communication plans to ensure accurate, timely messaging and awareness distribution to impacted customers.
**Social Media Management**
+ Manage the social media program for United Cargo to increase brand visibility, customer engagement, and industry presence.
+ Develop and manage long-term content plans in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Communications.
+ Lead the employee engagement “LinkedIn Champion” program, driving adoption through strategic planning, content support, and regular follow-ups.
+ Track and report on performance metrics monthly to assess progress and optimize future initiatives.
**Media Relation**
+ Develop and execute an annual media plan to proactively promote United Cargo across key trade and industry channels.
+ Collaborate with Marketing Manager to identify and pursue advertising, interviews, press releases, and publication opportunities throughout the year.
+ Respond to media inquiries with professionalism and subject matter expertise, producing content that requires minimal leadership revisions.
+ Monitor competitor media activity and industry publications to keep United Cargo informed of relevant developments and positioning trends.
**Integrated Marketing Support & Reporting**
+ Act as a liaison between Cargo Marketing and key stakeholders including Sales, Corporate Communications, and external partners to ensure alignment on messaging and initiatives.
+ Ensure consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across all communication channels and materials.
+ Maintain and regularly update the internal content library to provide the Sales team with timely access to current marketing assets.
+ Produce monthly reports measuring the effectiveness and reach of marketing campaigns and key communications initiatives.
**Note:** This position provides for a hybrid work arrangement, with in-office requirements 50% of the time at United’s Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL.
**Qualifications**
**What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):**
+ Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
+ 3+ years' experience in communication, copywriting, social media, marketing, media, or a related field
+ Social media tools, platforms and strategy
+ Marketing content development
+ Excellent written and verbal skills; Executive communications
+ Proficiency in executing communication plans; strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across digital and print formats
+ Ability to work collaboratively across divisions
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office
+ Proven ability to manage technical information
+ Strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver high-quality work independently and under tight deadlines
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

+ Master's degree in marketing, communications
+ 3-5 years airline or cargo industry experience

The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $108,790.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
