Job Description

Position overview:

As a Sr Manager at Thermo Fisher, you will lead company-wide projects, ensuring successful program delivery.

Major areas of responsibility:

Lead cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams to achieve desired outcomes.Foster collaboration across horizontal workstreams and geographies, effectively managing diverse teams.Influence key collaborators to guarantee timely and quality program implementation across workstreams and businesses.Develop relationships within the company to complete assigned projects through effective communication.Drive breakthrough thinking by integrating diverse views, promoting innovative and collaborative problem-solving approaches.Define and maintain scope of work, goals, budget, headcount requirements and deliverables with a full-scale project plan, manage project resource requirements.Periodically assess project plans to ensure readiness and quality of the projects.Assume overall responsibility for complex projects, regardless of scope.Drive project requirements, deliverables, and progress throughout the project’s lifecycle.Employ fit-for-purpose methodologies to achieve project scope in a timely manner, with quality and within budget.Identify and manage interdependencies, risks, and issues, facilitating decision-making related to complexities through effective risk management strategies.Manage critical path processes and blocking issues, driving to find mitigation strategies.Act as the main point of contact for project progress updates and obstacles in project implementation, communicating to senior collaborators.Clearly communicate project outcomes, lead Steering Committee discussions.Coordinate complex portfolio of projects, manage project changes and interventions to keep the portfolio on track.Build a high-performing team of highly skilled and motivated people.Establish a culture of excellence in line with our Thermo Fisher Value.

Required education/experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in a business-related field.Project Management certification highly desirable (PMP, Prince2, Agile, etc.).10+ years of experience managing complex, global programs and project initiatives.Experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory) or Customer Service preferred.GBS experience highly desirable.Experience in Agile project management is an advantage.Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
