This position is based in Hillsboro, OR and is part of our Material and Structural Analysis Division (MSD). MSD supplies innovative solutions for microscopy and microanalysis. Using scanning and transmission electron microscopes and DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, combined with sophisticated software suites, our customers can combine high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis to go from questions to usable data. Our solutions enable customers to push the boundaries of productivity and innovation.

Commercial Finance

Support commercial initiatives by analyzing revenue streams, driving forecast insights, pricing strategies, and market opportunities, translating financial insights into actionable business tactics.

Ensure compliance with US GAAP requirements in all commercial decisions, while upholding the highest levels of quality and ethical standards.

Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis

Develop and lead comprehensive financial strategies that align with the division’s long-term objectives, ensuring that FP&A activities support overall corporate growth.

Assist with all key AOP tasks such as developing the Annual Operating Plan guidance and leading the monthly outlook and quarterly forecast processes.

Build the AOP management review package and AOP calendar to ensure key objectives and timelines are met.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Generate timely, accurate management reports (MBR, QBR) and financial dashboards highlighting key performance indicators, variances, and trends for board-level decision-making.

Oversee Division month end consolidation activities in compliance with corporate timelines and expectations.

Cost Management & Margin Improvement

Identify cost-saving initiatives and margin improvement opportunities for the division.

Investment Analysis & Capital Allocation

Evaluate potential investments, new business opportunities, and capital projects through detailed return on investment and scenario analyses to drive strategic growth.

Leadership & Team Development

Build, mentor, and lead FP&A and Commercial finance team, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Business Engagement:

Present financial data and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, board members, and others, fostering informed decision-making and alignment with business objectives.

Keys to Success:Education

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. An MBA, Master’s in Finance, or another equivalent advanced degree and CPA/CFA/CMA certification is highly preferred.

Experience

With 10+ years of combined experience in technical finance skills, leadership, and cross-functional management, consistently achieving business success through sound financial management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Deep understanding of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, capital structure, and investment analysis.

Awareness of market trends, economic indicators, competitive analysis, and global business drivers.

Proficiency with financial management systems (ERP, BI tools) and common data analysis software.

Proficient in modeling, scenario planning, data interpretation, and data-informed decision-making.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor professionals, and drive organizational change across a global organization.

Excellence in translating financial data into clear, actionable insights.

Consistent track record of building and sustaining relationships with key internal and external partners, influencing outcomes.

Flexibility to adjust strategies in response to changes in regulatory, market, or technological environments. Ability to deliver results and lead in a matrix business environment

Ability to travel up to 25%, including international
