Specialist Technical Account Manager - Cloud Operations, AWS North, EMEA EU North, EMEA EU North
Description Are you a Technologist with deep expertise in Cloud Operations? We're looking for Cloud Operations experts to help our customers achieve operational excellence at scale with their AWS cloud environments. As a Specialist Technical Account Manager (STAM), you act as a Cloud Operations Architect for your designated technology domain. You'll provide strategic guidance to customers on implementing robust operational practices, cloud financial management capabilities, and observability solutions, applying your knowledge of best practices to enhance architectural health, optimize cloud resources, and allow customers to get the most out of their AWS implementation. You'll help customers navigate complex operational challenges through the AWS Observability Ambassador Program principles, design resilient cloud architectures that meet performance standards, and implement effective monitoring and optimization controls. You'll guide customers through the lens of Cloud Financial Management (CFM) framework, helping them combine tools, processes, and practices to plan, manage, and optimize cloud costs while enabling innovation and scaling to meet business objectives within budget. This is a post-sales advisory role within our Enterprise Support team, where you can further develop your technical, leadership, and consulting skills while working with organizations facing sophisticated cloud operations challenges. You'll leverage Cloud Optimization best practices, guidance, and solutions, including AWS Well-Architected Framework, AWS Trusted Advisor, AWS Health and Operations Reviews to help customers maximize the value they derive from AWS. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success, especially when navigating the evolving landscape of cloud operations. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services while maintaining efficient and optimized cloud environments. AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector and other regulated industries. This role is open in Stockholm and Amsterdam Key job responsibilities • Provide customers with deep technical expertise in your domain to achieve operational excellence. • Collaborate with Generalist Technical Account Managers, Solutions Architects, Account Managers and Customer Solutions Manager to ideate around your customers’ most challenging business problems. • Act as a trusted advisor to line of business and C-suite leaders. • Lead architectural reviews and workshops to advance your customer’s technical objectives. • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc. Participate as a leader in AWS Technical Field communities. • Educate and Advice customers on the value proposition of AWS Services and Support products, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud. • Provide data and anecdotes on what is working and what is not back to the larger specialist community and product teams. Act as primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in your technical specialty. A day in the life In this role, you'll leverage your extensive technical knowledge to ensure our customers' cloud environments are efficient, optimized, and resilient on the AWS platform. As a trusted advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring customer success as they implement operational best practices and cloud financial management strategies. This includes providing deep process and technical expertise to help customers overcome complex operational challenges. With your in-depth operations experience and knowledge, you'll guide customers in understanding and implementing best practices for operating in the cloud. This involves assisting customers in mitigating operational risks using scalable and cost-effective solutions on AWS, while applying principles from the AWS Observability Ambassador Program to enhance visibility into their environments. Additionally, you'll develop content and conduct enablement sessions with customers, such as Well-Architected workshops and Cloud Financial Management immersion days, to further enhance their operational capabilities and help them achieve architectural health and cloud optimization across their AWS footprint. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional Basic Qualifications • 4+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting of Cloud Operations frameworks • 4+ years of experience building operational solutions across monitoring, alerting, and automation systems or experience with observability tools and practices such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and distributed tracing • Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical operations lead • Experience in Cloud operations such as Cloud Financial Management, architectural optimization, and large-scale operational transformations. Preferred Qualifications • Deep experience in Cloud Operations architecture design, build, deploy and maintenance • Deep experience implementing and managing Cloud Financial Management practices • Expertise in AWS observability solutions and the AWS Observability Ambassador Program principles • Experience conducting Well-Architected Reviews and implementing recommendations • Proficiency with AWS Trusted Advisor and AWS Health or Operations Reviews • Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, and cost • AWS Certifications, e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate / Professional / Speciality highly desirable. • Internal enterprise experience working with a wide range of internal stakeholders on operations implementation or migration with a company-wide impact. • Ability to understand complex application data flows and bridge the gap between technical and business app requirements. • Strong written communication skills as well as a proven track record of writing clear process and technical documentation Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
