Summary of the Role:
Specialist Standardization (Instrument & Automation) is responsible for leading the development, regular updating and maintaining GES – Global Engineering Standards for “Instrumentation & Automation” stream across the organization. This includes all types of field instruments, ICSS – integrated control & safety systems, DCS, PLC & their installation. This position should be well versed with & always updated with all the engineering standards, codes, latest industrial practices, new developments for Instruments & Automation systems used in the chemical process industry. This position is responsible to drive global program for Standardization for “Instrumentation & Automation”. And with GES usage & implementation, drive improve operational safety, achieve cost reduction by collaborating with global stakeholders within operations and procurement organization. This position will collaborate & engage with diverse teams / experts within and outside Lubrizol, to develop, update & maintain the GES.

Education
Bachelor’s / master’s degree in instrumentation from a reputed university.
Experience and Skills
15+ years of experience in Chemical Process Industry. Last assignment (~ 6-8 years) for Instrumentation – automation engineering streams in a consulting firm or design department of large chemical industry. A solid understanding of the principles of Standardization process. Minimum 7- 8 years hands on experience “Instrumentation & Automation” standardization. This includes all types of field instruments, ICSS – integrated control & safety systems, DCS, PLC & their installation. By virtue of his experience, it is expected that candidate will have thorough exposure to most of the below listed area. Field Instrument: - Control valves, pneumatically – electrically actuated on-off valves, Various types of measurement instruments for temperature, level, flow, mass. Analytical Instruments (pH Meters, Conductivity Meters, Gas Analyzers). Flame & smoke detectors System: - ICSS controllers and their accessories, DCS, ESD, and FGS systems, PLC, HMI. All the above field instrument & systems installations. Proficient in various codes for Instrumentation & Automation such as IEC, ISA , NFPA, API, ISO PIP - Process Industry Practices. Earlier experience of dealing / interacting with renowned local / global consulting -engineering firms , equipment manufacturer is preferred. Experience in a Global organization environment will have clear advantage. Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (also including Power point for presentations), Various forms of database. Ability to understand the requirements through remote interaction, asking prompt questions, analyzing provided information. Fluency in English is must. Attention to details and accuracy - perfection, meticulousness in drafting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the team & other LZ global stake holders.
