About Us

The Consumer Web team sets the technical direction for the Web at Netflix. We build and maintain the web platform that is the backbone of all Netflix.com applications. These applications cover every aspect of a Netflix customer's web experience, including signing up, watching content, playing games, managing their account, staying connected on Tudum, and more. Our team is uniquely positioned to support the ever-growing demands of the web and to make strategic decisions that enhance the efficiency of web development at Netflix.

Job Overview

We improve developer efficiency by offering common libraries and frameworks, including the Web Consumer Toolkits. These toolkits implement the Netflix Design System, which enables our engineers to build user interfaces efficiently and consistently, streamlining the implementation of design visions from designers to engineers. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team and further advance our commitment to the Design System.

About the role

Build and maintain the Netflix Design System and its associated infrastructure and tooling

Execute independently on projects and tasks on our quarterly roadmap

Collaborate and form strong relationships with design teams and product engineering teams

Be an ambassador who accelerates the design system adoption

Exemplify the Netflix culture by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values.

What sets you apart

You have 3-5 years of total software engineering experience

You have experience dealing with the unique challenges of building and releasing design systems

You are comfortable with modern JavaScript and CSS development

You have a passion for accessibility

You have experience collaborating directly with designers 

You have experience operating in a supporting capacity to other engineers

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $100,000 - $720,000.
