About us

 

The Vehicle Motion & Thermal Management Technology stream leads and develops complete vehicle motion- and thermal control solutions for Safe, Sustainable and Efficient transportation. Our technology scope is broad and involves advanced mechatronic systems related to the motion and optimisation of energy in our vehicles. 


We are currently looking for a Software Component Owner who work together with System Architects, Product Owners and Function Owners in the Vehicle Motion Management organization, contribute to our Vehicle Motion Management products. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important and strategic product changes, and together with decision makers shape the future for our products.


You will have the chance to work across the entire vehicle and gain a unique understanding of how it works. Relevant Experience:

 

You have an M.Sc. degree in IT, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Electronics or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of embedded software development experience (implementation and verification of embedded systems) and automated testing preferably in the automotive industry. Knowledge and experience of Embedded C/C++, Unit testing / Component Testing Good understanding of system development of embedded real-time systems and model-based development (Matlab/Simulink) Vector automotive tools, for example: CANoe, CANalyzer, Davinci Dev/Conf Experience in Agile organizations and SW Project Management Knowledge in Configuration Management, Continuous Integration and requirement management using tools such as GIT, Jenkins and SystemWeaver Good knowledge of AUTOSAR classic/adaptive methodology & debugging skills Experience in process development of embedded SW using ASPICE, CMMI, ISO26262 Experience in software product development and testing, System Design/ECU topology, ECU Diagnostic (Can Network, J1939, UDS services, ISO14229) Experience in function and software development in real-time embedded systems. Good knowledge of modern architectural design principles and patterns. Knowledge of Automotive standards and practices related to Functional Safety and Cyber Security. Knowledge of in-vehicle communication technologies (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, diagnostic protocol, SOME/IP etc.). Basic knowledge of SW platforms such as Classic and Adaptive Autosar, Linux

Previous experience with Volvo SW configuration management and Volvo tools Test driven development Good knowledge in Physics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering, Control engineering, System modeling, Functional requirements, and Electronics Truck driving license Vehicle Dynamics knowledge Experience as Enterprise Architect Trouble shooting and on-site support to projects, production plants and aftersales What’s in it for you?

As a Software Component Owner, you will have the following responsibilities:

 

Design electrical and electronics functions by identifying the purpose and aim of the system, the component interface, and system behaviors. Delivers according to defined methods, expected inputs and outputs. Develop SW design considering ISO26262 & Cyber Security requirements. Ensure SW design from suppliers is meeting Volvo expectations with respect to timing, content, validation & verification. Release inhouse & supplier SW according to the Volvo tools and processes; ensure meeting program milestones and timings.  SW development within our Continuous Integration framework, delivering SW updates to production vehicles Algorithm design and proof of concept investigations for new Vehicle Motion Management functionality (for both manually driven and highly automated vehicles). Review Function level concepts with Product Owners (PO), Component Owner (CO) and Function Owner (FO). Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and system architecture roadmaps. Contribute to Quality Management including FMEA, Functional Safety as well as Cyber Security Document Software requirements, use cases etc, in system engineering tool. Contribute to establish robust verification and validation plan. Coding in various languages and debugging of code. Secure that requirements are correctly implemented. Participate in testing and verification loops to secure system aspects of the solution. Investigating system level or truck level issues and providing solutions. Contribute issues problem solving in collaboration within the team. Contribute to continuous improvement on tools, work methods and the development process. Ready for the next move?
