This position is part of our Advanced Safety and User Experience segment (AS&UX)

The Software Architect is responsible for the software design and for the delivery of all technical aspects of software architecture into the product design.  You’ll work with our business pursuit teams, major OEMs, and a talented global Aptiv team to deliver automotive ECU’s leveraging technologies such as embedded microprocessors, Ethernet, and  CAN protocols,  along with GPS, ultrasonic, cameras and Radar technology. In your daily job you will:

Your Role:

Support new business pursuits:Collaborate with business pursuit teams.Align with Platform, Vehicle and System Architects to define a robust software architecture that aligns to Aptiv’s technology and product roadmap while maximizing reuse.Support software estimations for people, tools, and licenses. Lead the software architecture planning, design and implementation – in particular:Develop and implement architecture and verification planAnalyze and determine critical system resource budgets across the systemDrive and conduct design and code reviewsAdvise project and program management in planningTechnical leadership and oversight of the SCRUM teamAllocate software functionality to components Work with Product Development and Product Strategy teams to create software products containing required features and modifications.Collaborate with system team to review determine customer requirements and component interface specificationsEstablish technical interfaces with key customer stakeholders to discuss, understand, describe, and document customer requirements.Drive decisions regarding the software / hardware architecture

Your Background:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field of study)Local residents (or willing to relocate to MI) with ability to work on site10+ years of experience in the embedded software industryDemonstrated success as a Software ArchitectExperience leading software effort estimation for new business and change requests.Experience with formal UML architectural design tools such as Enterprise ArchitectGood knowledge in field or software engineering and embedded systems architecture (HW/SW)Experience with Operating Systems/RTOS (Linux, QNX / OSEK / VxWorks / SafeRTOS) or applicable for automotive systems

Additional Background Preferences:

Master degree in Electronics or Computer Science / Electronics or relatedExperience with Active Safety systems or Autonomous driving systemsWorking knowledge of AUTOSARExperience with low level drivers - SPI, I2C, and/or Ethernet driversExperience with developing SW on Renesas/Infineon/Freescale 16/32 bit microcontrollersExperience with vehicle protocols - CAN, LIN, Flex Ray, EthernetFamiliarity with Automotive SPICEFamiliarity with Agile methodology
