You will be passionate about service delivery excellence for UnityTM Lab Services. Specific activities relative to the job function will include order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, metric reporting, stockroom services, and material handling. Assist with additional site-based tasks related to inventory or scientific services as needed.
ResponsibilitiesGas cylinder managementLN2/C02 / Dry Ice managementOrder standard gas cylinders in accordance with customer proceduresReceive gas cylinders and perform detailed inspection upon receiptInventory locations and perform routine pressure checksCoordinate gas cylinders with vendorMaintain appropriate stock of cylinders at all designated stock areas, including freezer farms, supply areas, and laboratory point-of-use (POUs)Receive and deliver weekly dry ice ordersMaintain a clean environmentPromote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within the functional areaServe as the first point of contact for any gas and dry ice matters or concernsStockroom duties may include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, detailed replenishment, and other functions according to customer requirementsListen to customer concerns, effectively diffuse dissatisfaction, and quickly identify a course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround timesWork effectively with a diverse cross-functional teamAdopt Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologiesPositively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locationsParticipate in individual or group projects that can include cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and team meetingsAttend required training sessionsEducationHigh School graduate or equivalent experienceExperiencePrevious inventory experience is preferredKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesProven verbal, written, and presentation skillsMaintain Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Four-I ValuesShown excellence in customer serviceDiligent, problem solver, fosters team environmentComputer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Proficient multi-tasking and time-management skillsDemonstrate self-motivation in completing work assignmentsMaintain a professional appearancePhysical Requirements / Work EnvironmentWorks primarily in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations, and laboratory environmentsWalking/standing may be required for up to 70% of the dayMay pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)Able to lift, push and pull 30-50 pounds as neededAble to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacksDepending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, facemask, and/or safety glovesBenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
