What You'll Do:
As a Site & Production Leader, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by providing strategic and tactical leadership for the operations of the plant’s manufacturing processes. Safety is the highest priority for this opportunity. The Site & Production Leader fosters continuous improvement in people, processes, procedures, and assets to reduce risks to the site using tools such as the Human Performance Improvement Program. The Site & Production Leader demonstrates operational excellence and adheres to company policies in meeting safety, reliability, quality, productivity, and financial goals. This is a critical role requiring significant interaction with all levels of the facility and broader organization. The Site & Production Leader has responsibility and accountability for the plant assets, EH&S, personnel, and the achievement of the plant related business goals. This role provides unit, business and people leadership and leads the unit’s development to be a work process driven and empowered team:
Utilizes leader standard work to ensure the priorities of Safety, Operational Excellence and Cybersecurity are embedded into all aspects of plant operations, fostering continuous improvement within the facility meeting defined metrics.Leads the overall planning and day-to-day operations for the facility to produce the highest quality products manufactured in the most effective and efficient manner meeting performance, production, and quality targets within budget.
Maintains a diverse, inclusive, and positive work environment/culture that fosters efficiency, effectiveness and high morale while ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and equitably by taking corrective and preventive action as appropriate to support that goal.
Monitors, encourages, and assists in the development of direct reports and facilitates adequate training and professional development opportunities for all site employees.
Drives engagement initiatives for the facility.
Coordinates workforce and succession plans for critical positions.
Collaborates with the commercial organization to forecast production schedules that are safe and efficient.
Partners with the supply chain organization to forecast production schedules that are safe and efficient.
Coordinates with Information Solutions to ensure the highest cybersecurity standards are maintained at the facility.
Maintains optimal plant condition through standard assessments of assets, preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
Identifies opportunities to modernize and or automate processes and systems.
Applies technical and analytical abilities with continuous improvement mindset to resolve and prevent problems and improve existing processes, collaborating with other departments as required.
Generates and leverages data and reporting to drive company performance from an operational and financial perspective.
Develops, manages, and executes the annual operating and capital budget. Monitors, evaluates, and controls department expenses.
Ensures compliance with all regulations and operating permits.
Provides necessary support for non-routine tasks, shutdowns, and upset conditions, as required.
Ensures the plant EH&S program delivers performance to meet EH&S goals and relevant permit/regulatory requirements. Leads by example with a commitment to safety by personal behavior.
Key representative for the plant in goal setting and business strategy discussions, as well as communication of both within the unit.
Accountable for meeting annual goals, objectives, and KPI improvements, including costs, asset reliability, and asset utilization.
Ensures implementation of work processes, operating discipline, management systems and roles.
Ensures necessary resources are in place to meet production requirements and achieve the plant goals.
Provides leadership and expectations for the personnel in the goal setting processes.
Ensures individuals set, monitor and achieve goals aligned with business and site strategies.
Creates an environment that allows team and individual empowerment to grow and flourish. Models expected behaviors for an empowered organization.
Ensures the operating discipline and standards are in place to produce quality products and meet customer needs.
Provides administrative leadership to plant personnel on role expectations, compensation and personal development.
Ensures that all unplanned events (e.g., safety, quality, reliability) that meet the RCA trigger criteria are thoroughly investigated and that any identified management system improvements are communicated to site and business leadership.
Skills That Make a Difference:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering; chemical engineering perferred.
15 years of operational experience within a chemical manufacturing plant.
5+ years experience leading/managing cross-functional teams with at least 3 years managing shift based employees.
A safety-first mindset and history of driving safety improvements.
Proven ability to effectively lead, influence and build high performing teams.
Strong structured problem-solving skills and experience in the application of continuous improvement tools.
Drive to continuously learn and challenge status quo.
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship building.
Ability to learn quickly, adapt and grow from adversity.
Excellent communication skills, willing to engage one-on-one, and listen to front-line employees.
Flexibility and commitment to work outside of normal work hours as required.
Knowledge of chemistry and process technology, as applicable.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
Considered a Plus:
Master's degree from an accredited university in engineering; chemical engineering perferred.
