What Will Be Your Environment: 

The Midland, Michigan Plant is just 30 minutes from Saginaw and located closely to Lake Huron. We produce specialty gas compression lubricants, vacuum pump lubricants, industrial functional fluids including hydraulic oil, gear oil, and chain oil with a team of 200 employees.  

 

What You'll Do:  

As a Shift Supervisor, you'll be expected to comply with the RCMS, ISO 9001 and all standard operating procedures. Responsibilities will include supervising personnel in the blending and packaging of raw materials and finished goods to meet customer demand. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager with liaison with the Shipping/Receiving, Planner/Scheduler, Customer Service Representatives and Supply Chain.

 

What We're Looking For: 

Supervise up to 15 employees. Active in day-to-day activities, inclusive of line work. 

Understand and comply with all applicable internal Lubrizol and external health, safety, security, and environmental policies.

Ability to perform physical labor (drum, pail and bag, material handling). 

Safely performing tasks using a variety of chemical processing equipment. 

Follow established procedures to manufacture products.

Interpret data from process instrumentation.

Complete and maintain comprehensive records and production logs. 

Organize work to meet multiple tasks.

Organize multiple tasks for your team, schedule and hold them accountable.

Maintain housekeeping at excellent levels.                  

Ability to safely operate forklift in Plant environment.

Utilize the SAP system to review process orders for correct inventory levels.

Review manufacturing schedule to organize daily manufacturing.

Produce quality products to meet customer satisfaction.

Advanced knowledge of pumping operations, tank operations and filtration systems.

Staff and supervision of manufacturing personnel which includes hiring, orientation and holding of team meetings

Ability of cycle and physical inventory.

Ability to acknowledge process improvements.

5S adherence.

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

High school diploma graduate or equivalent. 

10 years of chemical industrial experience.

3 years of supervisory industrial experience.

Basic math and reading skills. 

Good computer skills.

Ability to read and interpret work instructions.

 

Considered a Plus:

Previous forklift/scissor lift operation. 

Knowledge of chemistry and chemical hazards.

Knowledge of business and chemistry.

Knowledge of pumping operations, tank operations, and filtration equipment.

Previous experience in a team-based work environment.

SAP experience.

Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Working Conditions:

Requires use of appropriate PPE, Personal Protective Equipment, to fulfill safety requirements. Physically able to move drums weighing up to 450 lbs. with proper equipment

Ability to lift 70 lbs.

Ability to stand for long periods.

Comfortable working at moderate heights (ladders, lift, scaffolding & mezzanine areas).

Willing to work overtime, if needed.

Willing to work evenings and weekends if needed.
