Senior System Engineer
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** **Project Leadership & Technical Execution** Act as the SIS Lead for assigned projects, serving as the primary technical point of contact for the safety scope. Support Project Managers on all technical aspects related to SIS. Follow Emerson’s FSM process and maintain all SIS documentation in accordance with the safety lifecycle (IEC 61511 and project-specific standards). Analyze customer documents including Design Specifications, P&IDs, Control Narratives, IO Lists, Instrument Index, Operating Philosophies, Cause & Effect Diagrams, FGS Layouts, etc. Lead and mentor a team of SIS Software/Hardware Engineers throughout the project. **System Design & Development** Design safety systems (ESD, FGS, BMS) including software and hardware architecture. Perform I/O assignments to Safety Logic Solvers. Define and develop software concepts, logic libraries, and project-specific typicals. Develop hardware design including third-party interfaces (e.g., Addressable FGS). Review and verify compliance with IEC 61511 and other applicable standards. **Documentation & Testing** Review hardware typicals, drawings, and third-party device compatibility. Develop and execute test plans for: Internal software and hardware testing Third-party interface testing FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) SAT (Site Acceptance Test) Integrated HW-SW testing Support loop checks, system startup, commissioning, and handle engineering changes. **Quality & Compliance** Ensure implementation of Emerson EEEC IMS processes and documentation throughout the project. Comply with customer quality standards and regulatory guidelines. Promote a "First Time Right" approach and follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP). **Additional Responsibilities** Undertake additional strategic or technically suitable duties as assigned, potentially under mentorship. **Required Qualifications:** Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. 5 to 12 years of experience in Safety Instrumented Systems, process control, or automation (minimum 3 years if fully focused on SIS). Experience leading SIS or DCS projects. Hands-on design experience with ESD, FGS, and BMS in engineering projects for oil & gas, refineries, chemicals, or petrochemical sectors. **Preferred Certifications:** TÜV Certified Safety Engineer or CFSP/CFSE certification is an advantage. **Who You Are:** You thrive in dynamic environments, take initiative, and seek timely advice when making decisions.
