Senior Standards Specialist
The Sr. Regional Standards Specialist will support regional standards partnership and engagement activities to drive the adaptation of safety standards in international markets and advance the mission of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) to make the world safer, more secure, and sustainable. The Sr. Regional Standards Specialist will promote safety and sustainability by supporting policy and standards harmonization, engagement with key standards developers, policymakers, and industry leaders, and facilitate the use of UL standards within these regions. + Support the execution of ULSE engagement strategy and objectives for the region. + Identify and initiative partnership opportunities in the region including national standards bodies, standards developing organizations, regulatory bodies, policy makers and key industry associations. + Work closely with cross functional teams and support regional engagement projects, including organizing events, meetings, and workshops to facilitate knowledge exchange and build awareness. + Collaborate with teams to support planning, coordination and execution of project initiatives to ensure project milestones and goals are met. + Maintain partnerships database, records of engagement activities and other relevant documentation. + Organize, gather and assess information related to standards including country and regional regulation and policy analysis and use of UL standards and trends in the region. + Conduct research to support regional initiatives, including analyzing market trends, identifying gaps in standards adoption, and supporting needs assessments. + Ensure regional project activities comply with organizational processes and protocols, including data entry, tracking in project management systems, and adherence to intellectual property guidelines. + Performs other duties as directed. + Demonstrate understanding of principles of standardization and its impacts to economic development, environmental protection and societal progression. + Understanding of project management. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically PowerPoint, Word and Excel or similar business applications. + Positive and collaborative interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and interact with diverse stakeholders. + Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and ability to work and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience and Education Requirements + University degree. + Minimum 1 year relevant working experience. + Experience with international policy or international relations. + Experience in standards development preferred. + Fluency (written and spoken) in English.
