Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Staff Representative in Quality Assurance (On-Wing Maintenance Surveillance), you will be vital in maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence across United's Technical Operations and vendor network. This position requires leading audits, investigations, and surveillance to ensure alignment with FAA regulations and our internal Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS). You will collaborate cross-functionally to identify risks, resolve non-compliance issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives within On-Wing Maintenance and related functions. With 40-50% travel, this role significantly impacts our global maintenance operations while serving as a key liaison with regulatory bodies and industry partners.
Responsibilities Include:
Conduct internal and external audits and compliance assessmentsInvestigate non-compliance events, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsPrepare and present audit reports and findings to senior leadershipProvide regulatory guidance to cross-functional teamsRepresent United at FAA and industry meetings, supporting continuous improvement initiativesAssist with voluntary self-disclosures and FAA Letters of InvestigationTravel 40-50% to domestic and international sites for on-site quality oversightNote: This is a remote position with a 50% travel requirement. While the role is fully remote, we prefer candidates based near one of our hub locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Newark, or Washington D.C. (IAD)
QualificationsWhat's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, safety, or aviation-related field, or equivalent work experienceFAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate, or equivalent experience in aircraft maintenance, inspection, and quality assurance5-7 years of proven achievements in aircraft maintenance, inspection, engineering, and QA, with demonstrated leadership capabilitiesExpertise in aircraft maintenance, surveillance, and analysis programsStrong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of relevant Code of Federal Regulations and Company manuals/requirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn company-specific IT platformsExtensive experience interacting with the FAAAbility to travel 40-50% to domestic and internationalMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of an interview is requiredReliable, punctual attendance is essentialWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
