We are recruiting a Senior Software Engineer for the Discovery & Validation team in the Modern Tax System (MTS) space. Discovery & Validation team owns platform capabilities for printing and PDF Generation along with end to end testing for MTS. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing platform solutions and fake last miles. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Principal engineers and your team of engineers.The technical footprint covers a breadth of areas. Some examples are:
+ Main languages and frameworks are C#/.NET
+ Mainly hosted in AWS
+ An API first strategy to deliver integrations for rest of the MTS teams
+ Backend asynchronous processing engine to provide scalable experiences for client

What will you do:
+ Understand customer needs and business goals.
+ Often act as a technical lead for features or epics and complete features or epics where the approach is loosely defined and requires technical & design discovery prior to implementation
+ Advocate for best practices and a healthy balance of tech debt versus delivery
+ Actively mentor/coach less-experienced team members
+ Ensure code is flexible, reusable, extensible performant, and high quality through feedback on code reviews
+ Decompose outcomes into solutions composed of multiple software components interacting with each other

What you bring:
+ Experience developing highly scalable applications
+ Must be advanced in object-oriented design and development and unit-testing using .Net C#
+ A firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design, RESTful API Design patterns
+ Good knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and non relational databases (Postgres)
+ 5+ years’ hands-on experience preferred with full-stack development
+ Demonstrate experience with CI/CD and APM tools, Datadog, teamcity, Octopus or similar tools experience is a major plus
+ AWS Secret manager, SQS, SNS exposure and experience is a plus
+ Docker Containerization experience is a plus
+ Microservice experience is needed
+ Experience with unit testing and integration test automation. Experience with Postman, Playwright or Cypress is a major plus.
+ Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
+ Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
+ Must be well versed with Systems Architecture and developer tools
+ Experience handling Oncall for the team in rotation
+ Must be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learn
+ Must commit to their role and take responsibility for their tasks
+ Must be able to work effectively in an agile and team environment
+ Must be effective and creative in problem solving

The pay range for this position is $98,200 - $140,300 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements.
