Position Overview:

Insulet Corporation, maker of Omnipod, is the leader in tubeless insulin pumps. We are looking for performance engineers to build and scale our next generation of products. This is a fast paced environment working on challenging problems. Your work will impact the lives of people living with diabetes!

As a Cloud Performance Engineer you will work with a team of skilled, cross-functional engineers building and scaling services that support our medical devices, mobile applications, partner integrations, and data analytics. You will partner with teams, both local and abroad, to build world class medical device software. Candidates should have experience developing production-quality software.

Responsibilities:

Ensure Cloud solutions meet defined SLAs, SLOs, and SLIsBuild Cloud performance harnesses using tools such as JMeter, Locust, Python, and KubernetesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, cost-effective solutionsAnalyze performance findings and provide recommendations to optimize Cloud configurationsDocument and report performance findings to development team and stakeholdersParticipate in capacity planning and forecasting activities to ensure resources support Insulet growth and peak loadsWork closely with Site Reliability Engineering to refine SLIs and build monitoring capabilitiesCreate dashboards using monitoring services such as AWS CloudWatch and DataDogAutomate performance activities in Bamboo/Jenkins CI/CD buildsPython scripting, as necessary, to support performance activitiesComply with Insulet quality practices for the design and maintenance of medical products

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or 3+ years of performance testing experience is preferredExperience planning and designing performance tests for load, stress, spikes, and scalability is preferredExperience developing performance testing scripts for AWS or Cloud is preferredFluent with Python is preferred
 

Additional Qualifications:           

Experience developing with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Locust is preferredExperience with message delivery systems such as RabbitMQ and Kafka is preferredExperience with MongoDB is preferredExperience with OpenTelemetry, DataDog or other tools to instrument, generate, and collect data is preferredAble to work independently with minimum supervision is preferredAble to communicate with candor and trust at multiple levels of the organization is preferred
