Job overview and responsibilities
The Senior Manager – Inflight Base is responsible for leading United’s Flight Attendant domicile. The Sr. Manager leads and directs base activities to achieve all performance goals including safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and budget goals. The Sr. Manager leads a team of supervisors and inflight managers who are responsible for all base activities and performance.
· Base Performance - Advises the activities of the Inflight base to meet performance goals
· Supervises base reliability and develops corrective actions to improve performance, as required
· Collaborates with other Operations leaders (Airport Operations, Flight Operations, etc.) to effectively manage on time departures
· Provides reporting and follow-up to Inflight leadership on performance
· Collaborates with other Inflight departments, such as Policies and Procedures and Safety/Training, to ensure effective and efficient processes are implemented in the field
· Union Activities – Serves as a collaborate with AFA and is responsible for achieving and maintaining local union relationships
· Responsible for hearing and delivering decisions on grievances
· Financial Performance – handles base budget plans
· Develops the annual budget plan and in collaboration with Inflight business leaders and Finance, reports on ongoing forecast and budget performance
· Develops and supervises base strategies and goals and provides input to base budget
· Safety – Responsible for base safety goals and FAA regulatory compliance
· Responsible for ensuring all safety initiatives are deployed in their respective location
· Coordinates with Inflight safety on all SFO safety investigations
· Provides local support to flight attendants for any Inflight safety incident
· Customer and Employee Satisfaction – Ensures delivery of Inflight and marketing products determined by the Inflight division
· Collaborates across the division to provide communication, training, and support to flight attendants to ensure they are set up for success in delivering a world class product to United’s customers
· Provides mentorship and feedback to flight attendants on service delivery, provides recognition for superb performance, and holds them accountable when service expectations are not met
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
· Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
· 5-7 years' experience working in the Inflight division and supporting/managing flight attendants
· Flight qualified or ability to successfully complete the flight attendant training program
· Ability to handle change effectively
· Shown ability to drive employee engagement
· Knowledge of Inflight contract
· Good negotiation skills
· Strong written and verbal communications
· Good Presentation skills
· Proven analysis and data tracking
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
· Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
· 1-3 years leading teams
· Experience working within or supporting the Inflight division/leading flight attendants
· Employee relations experience
The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $169,950.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
