Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline is required Will accept minimum of 20 years experience in the manufacture of Investment Castings in lieu of degree Minimum 15 years experience in the manufacture of Investment Castings Previous experience in customer support / customer interfacing is required Experience in producing Industrial Gas Turbines and Investment Castings Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with all levels of technical leadership in the Howmet organization. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Six Sigma Black Belt is highly desired Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization in a variety of communication platforms and delivery methods. Strong analytical and problem resolution skills in support of business planning, strategy development/deployment, relationship management and conflict resolution. Exceptional Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel & PowerPoint Presentations). Strong technical, industry and functional Engineering experience.Travel
This position requires the ability to travel up to 50%, domestic and internationalHowmet Engine Products is currently seeking an experienced professional to join our Structural Castings and IGT Team. This position will play an important role in the Howmet Engines organization working with the various plants around the world that produce Structural Castings, and assisting them in problem solving, new part introduction (NPI) efforts, cost reduction efforts, and standardization of best practices across the various casting facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work as a technical liaison and service coordinator to the casting plants, but with focus on support activities to the IGT and Structural NPI Engineering teams. Planning and formulating new product introduction engineering programs within area of assigned responsibility. Remaining current on technology trends affecting current and potential new markets. Leading customer meetings on new part designs, as required. Building and maintaining credibility with key resources both internally and externally. Implementing and reviewing part, tooling and process design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications. Ensure compliance with Howmet Aerospace business conduct policies, programs and standards. Drive and influence change where needed to support execution of overall strategy. Supporting activities related to technical development and casting plant engineering initiatives. Assembling data packages for customer approval. Preparing interim and completion project reports, as necessary. Providing technical support for assigned new product introduction area of assignment. Providing mentorship to other, typically less experienced engineers in the department as needed. Translating customer requirements into usable work instructions and interfaces with customer on technical issues. Manage coordination of best practice sharing and implement across IGT segment Remain current on technology trends affecting current and potential new markets.
