Your New Role: 
 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead the development, customization, integration, and support of the Infor WFM (Workbrain) platform. This role emphasizes delivering innovative workforce management solutions, ensuring seamless integrations, robust reporting, automation, and compliance with union and payroll requirements.

As a senior team member, you will leverage expertise in Workbrain APIs, Groovy framework, Cognos reporting, and backend programming to design, develop, and optimize HR software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of labor scheduling (LFSO/MVS), entitlements, payroll, workforce analytics, and automation to improve efficiency and scalability. A strong focus will be on implementing automated workflows and testing frameworks to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy across all systems. You will collaborate with global teams, manage resources, and execute projects from conception while mentoring junior developers and maintaining technical excellence.

Your Role Accountabilities: 

Technical Development & Integration

Design, develop, and maintain HR and workforce management applications with a focus on scalability and performance.

Customize and integrate Infor WFM (Workbrain) solutions, emphasizing labor scheduling, payroll, entitlements, and accruals.

Develop and optimize custom pay rules, entitlement configurations, and accrual processing using Workbrain APIs and Groovy framework.

Ensure seamless integrations with third-party APIs, payroll systems, and enterprise solutions while implementing automation for recurring integration tasks.

Automation & Process Optimization

Automate business processes and testing frameworks to improve efficiency, reduce manual efforts, and ensure consistent performance.

Design and implement automation scripts for unit testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing to validate software functionality.

Develop workflows to automate data cleansing, data migrations, and recurring system tasks, ensuring high data accuracy and minimal manual intervention.

Leverage tools and frameworks to automate job scheduling, report generation, and error-handling processes.

Leadership & Collaboration

Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and drive the adoption of best practices.

Oversee development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely execution.

Collaborate with P&C stakeholders to gather requirements, translate HR processes into software solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements while enhancing software security and reliability.

Testing & Deployment

Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and testing for all software developments.

Optimize software for performance and scalability while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.

Documentation & Reporting:

Create and maintain technical documentation for project reference and knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and ensure clear communication of requirements.

Leverage Cognos BI reporting to provide actionable insights and analytics for workforce performance.

Qualifications & Experiences: 

Technical Skills:

6+ years of hands-on development experience with Infor Workforce Management (Workbrain) 

Expertise in backend programming languages: Java, C#, Python, and Unix scripting.

Strong experience with database systems: SQL, NoSQL, PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and database optimization.

Proficiency in web development frameworks: Struts, Spring, Spring Boot, and familiarity with React or Angular.

Hands-on experience with middleware, transformation, and error-handling logic.

Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps pipelines for CI/CD processes.

Advanced knowledge of version control systems like Git and collaborative development tools.

Proficient in Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles 

Strong experience with Java web frameworks: JSP/Servlets, Struts, Spring MVC 

Expertise in Relational Databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) 

Strong understanding of application architecture, performance optimization, and scalability 

Experience building and integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party platforms 

Workforce Management Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of Infor WFM (Workbrain), including APIs, configuration, and integration.

Experience with labor scheduling (LFSO/MVS), payroll processes, and workforce analytics.

Proven ability to implement and maintain customizations for union-specific requirements and compliance.

Domain Expertise 

Functional knowledge across HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems 

Experience developing and supporting custom solutions for Workbrain modules including, but not limited to Timesheet customizations, Pay Rules, Data Events, Accruals, custom modules etc.  

Integration experience with enterprise systems such as Workday, ADP, and ERP/Financial platforms 

Background working in compliance-heavy industries such as Media & Entertainment, Retail or Financial Services 

Compliance & Labor Rule Expertise 

Demonstrated success implementing complex union-based agreements, especially under California labor law 

California labor laws, including daily/weekly overtime, guarantee hours, split shifts, Shift premiums and complex meal/rest break compliance 

Multi-union configurations and CBA-driven time rules in Workbrain 

Ability to implement legal and contractual labor requirements via system rules/configuration 

Additional Skills:

Experience in automating processes and deploying scalable solutions.

Familiarity with Cognos BI reporting for workforce performance analytics.

Experience with advanced Workbrain modules sucn as Labor Forecasting & Schedule Optimization (LFSO)  or Multi-View Scheduler (MVS) 

Familiarity with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau)  

Other Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with global teams.

Experience in managing and overseeing resources and aligning tasks with strategic roadmaps.

Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development processes.

Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor team members, and deliver innovative solutions.

 

Not Required but preferred experience:  

Experience with Infor WFM Cloud SaaS (Single Tenant) deployments.

Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.

Proven track record in deploying automation for business processes and testing frameworks.
