$142,000 - $160,000 (PL 16-18)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

The Safety Excellence Learning Manager is responsible for driving the successful implementation and sustainment of two critical pillars within International Paper’s Safety Excellence strategy: Safety Leadership Development and Safe Decision-Making. This role will manage day-to-day project activities, coordinate training deployment, coach site-level stakeholders, and support leadership teams to embed new safety behaviors across the enterprise. This role will also develop a sustainable training model to reinforce adoption of new safety culture for new employees, refresher courses, and new trainers.

·         Lead implementation of Safety Leadership Development and Safe Decision-Making initiatives at the mill, regional, and enterprise level.

·         Partner closely with DEKRA consultants to align priorities, resources, timelines, and site-specific needs.

·         Track progress across 200+ sites, ensuring high-quality rollout of training and coaching touchpoints.

·         Reinforce core tools such as the Leadership Diagnostic Instrument (LDI), SafeAlign, and Making Safe Decisions modules.

·         Facilitate communication between pillar leads, governance teams, and site champions.

·         Monitor engagement, field feedback, and help resolve adoption barriers.

·         Contribute to overall project communications, reporting, and success metrics.

·         Support upgraded safety training by implementing a sustainable training model to be adopted by all sites for continuous learning and training.

 

The Skills You Will Bring: 

·         Bachelor’s degree required

·         5+ years of experience in safety, operations, HR and training, or organizational transformation.

·         Strong project management skills and experience coordinating large-scale training initiatives.

·         Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder alignment capabilities.

·         Ability to lead through influence and navigate matrixed environments.

·         Travel required (~20-40%).
