Quality Manager

These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.​ We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins. **Job Description** **Summary** Under the direction of the VP Operations, responsible for implementation of the policies and procedures to ensure adherence to the company’s quality management systems (ISO 9001 and AS9100). Champions continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective quality assurance program. Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to enhance the performance of the company’s production. Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system. Plans and directs Quality Assurance activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through fellow department managers. **Primary Duties & Responsibilities** + Manage all aspects of AS9100 compliance and certification within Newark operations, including: scheduling and leading internal and external audits, working with internal process owners & management to assure process maps are accurate and that objective evidence of continuous improvement exists for our quality objectives. + Ensure that the company Quality Management System (QMS) Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions are being followed, and behavior in the organization meets the company’s Standards of Conduct. + Identify and implement production and product improvements. + Assist with Supplier Quality Initiatives (conducting due diligence upon approving new suppliers, supplier audits/visits, corrective action follow-ups). + Oversee the Nonconformance Review Board (NRB) and Material Review Board (MRB) process ensuring adequate consideration has been given to each nonconformance report (NCR) prior to closure. + Serve as Change Control Board (CCB) member to approve and/or escalate to NRB all locked design engineering change requests. + Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to drive product/system improvements. + Establish and manage performance metrics to facilitate continuous improvement activities. + Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure quality is embedded in each step throughout the organization. + Supervise a small but growing Quality team including: the Document Control (Change Analyst and Technical Writer), Equipment Calibration Manager, and Quality Control inspection team. + Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. + Organize IPC and other technician skill-specific training programs. + Ensure compliance through establishment and execution of internal audits. Provide support for external customer audits. + Interface with supplier(s) and customer(s) quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective containment or corrective actions are implemented. + Interact with supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at various management levels. Displays strong personal commitment and responsibility to following-through on execution of assignments and commitments to ensure a successful conclusion in a timely manner. **Job Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, Engineering preferred. + 5 + years of experience administering an ISO 9001 Quality Management System at a high-tech company + Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and verbal English + Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident status **Desirable But Not Required** + Familiarity with environmental and hazardous substance standards such as RoHS, REACH & WEEE + Familiarity with EMC standards (including wireless) such as FCC, CE and other country specific marks + Knowledge of product safety regulations & certifications such as UL + Knowledge of product cybersecurity regulations **Salary Range:** $120,300.00-$160,400.000 **Pay Transparency** The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
