Job Description1. Inspection & Quality Documentation
o Conduct 100% visual inspection of all STS roof assemblies upon arrival
o Estimate % of repaired surface
o Identify all defects such as gouges, scratches, rough surfaces, glue squeeze-out, pinholes, and primer issues as required per engineering standards.
o Take detailed pictures of defects for each unit.
o Log serial numbers, part numbers, and skid numbers for traceability.
o Categorize defects and classify severity levels.
2. Data Collection & Reporting
o Document findings in a structured Inspection Report for each non-conforming roof.
o Ensure reports align with example format (attached as reference).
o Maintain a KPI dashboard tracking defect trends (Pareto charts, defect distribution, etc.).
o Provide weekly and monthly summary reports to Volvo Trucks.
3. Escalation & Communication
o Immediately escalate any critical quality issues affecting production.
o Participate in weekly alignment meetings with Volvo Trucks to review trends and findings.
o Collaborate with Volvo Trucks Quality and STS for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Qualifications Automotive Quality Inspection Experience (preferably in body panels, assemblies, or paint defects). Experience with Measurement tools e.g. Calipers, gauges.Knowledge of defect classification and ISO/TS 16949 standards.Experience with documentation & reporting tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and digital inspection tools).Ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality standards.Strong attention to detail and process discipline.Effective communication skills for reporting findings and attending quality meetings.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
