The Role ...

You will be responsible for the execution of the project after the receipt of an order from a customer. You will independently control and monitor project design and engineering activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, under budget, and comply with the technical requirements of the customer's purchase order and specifications.

You will serve as the technical lead for the execution and coordination of the project from conception through design development, procurement, manufacturing, and testing. 
You will be required to manage multiple discipline projects with limited supervision, and demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills to delegate tasks to associate project engineers.

Be responsible for all aspects of the project scope to ensure technical requirements, schedule, and budget obligations are metOversee and coordinate the activities of the project stages with various departments, including design, purchasing, manufacturing, testing, and shippingLead construction design reviews and weekly manufacturing status meetingsReview customer purchase orders and technical specifications, and research industry standards for custom design complianceMaintain scope control by identifying, evaluating, estimating, and minimizing changes to the projectDevelop equipment designs that are safe, functional, reliable, economical, serviceable, and marketableGenerate all project-related technical documents, datasheets, procedures, and manuals for internal direction and to satisfy customer submittal needsCreate and maintain schedules to identify pitfalls and prioritize tasksEvaluate and critique drawings for completeness and to maximize productivity and reduce costs within the manufacturing processesPerform essential technical analysis and design calculationsSelect and specify components, materials, and purchased parts, including writing procurement specifications for custom componentsAssess vendor proposal quotes for technical compliance and cost-effectivenessInvestigate and resolve manufacturing, test, and field problems as they ariseTrack and control material and labor spending against financial budgetsProvide support for estimating equipment and technical development for bid proposalsInterface effectively with people at all levels and from diverse technical backgroundsHave the ability to work with limited supervision to accomplish the project requirements

We're looking for ...

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Electrical, Aerospace)A minimum of 2 years of Project Engineer experience in the design and manufacture of custom equipment. Experience with industrial design, building codes, and standards is strongly desired.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Web Applications, and Engineering Programs (Autodesk, Autodesk Inventor, Math CAD)A self-starter who demonstrates project ownership with an exceptional work ethic and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail
