Program Manager, AWS News Blog, AWS Launch Marketing
Description The AWS Launch Marketing team is looking for an experienced program manager to lead and drive our AWS News Blog coverage of major AWS launches. This role plans, executes, and delivers the day-to-day operations of the organization's flagship AWS News Blog, while owning the overall performance of the program and ensuring alignment with the broader AWS blogs strategy. Working in close partnership with a lead technical editor from the Developer Experience team, this role combines program management excellence with editorial oversight. The ideal candidate combines program management expertise with strong editorial skills and an affinity for technical content. Key job responsibilities Own and execute the AWS News Blog strategy in collaboration with the Developer Experience team's lead editor, ensuring alignment with overall AWS Blog strategy Shape headlines, content structure, and overall approach to storytelling to ensure content is engaging and meets audience needs Drive continuous improvement in content quality and program efficiency Deep dive on performance metrics and create analysis reports for Monthly Business Reviews and annual program reviews Own and manage end-to-end News Blog workflow, from intake to publication, ensuring adherence to brand standards, program mission, and tenets Enforce production guidelines with requesting teams, managing stakeholder review scope and deadlines for content and access requirements Manage intake queue and writer assignments, and ensure they receive necessary information in a timely manner Coordinate stakeholder reviews and vendor copyediting to maintain highest content quality Publish blog posts according to product launch timelines, including during live launch calls Manage high-volume content production for major AWS events Hold weekly News Blog writers meetings and office hours Act as liaison between product marketing managers, technical program managers, service teams and News Blog resources Ensure effective content promotion across various channels Regularly audit production mechanisms for efficacy; identify and implement improvements Create and maintain SOPs and training materials as needed A day in the life The News Blog program manager reviews the News Blog production queue to ensure all articles are proceeding successfully and troubleshoots problems. They collaborate closely with the Developer Experience team's lead editor to shape content strategy and coverage decisions, ensuring alignment with broader AWS Blog initiatives. They review the intake queue and determine which new requests can be accommodated, managing all requests in a timely manner. They publish new articles at the designated times, and they gather metrics, analyze and report on program performance for monthly business reviews. They also curate and help promote launch team content through newsletter, social media, and AWS blog home page placements while ensuring all content meets the highest standards of quality and engagement. About the team The AWS Launch Marketing Team works with AWS product marketing leadership, product marketing managers, and service teams to understand the key features and benefits of new AWS products, solutions, and key messaging themes. We use our content-marketing expertise to convey this information to audiences through blogs, videos, livestreams, podcasts, email newsletters, and social media. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $151,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
