Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
Product Repair Technician (FAA Safety Sensitive)
Position Summary:
The Product Repair Technician performs inspections, tests, troubleshoots and repairs on customer returned equipment, in accordance with rules and regulations. Provides an efficient and effective repair service that meets company and departmental obligations and objectives. The Product Repair Technician will be performing, ready to perform, or eligible to perform safety-sensitive work and therefore will be part of the OECO LLC Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. The Program includes random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing.
Responsibilities:
+ Performs teardowns, overhauls and functional testing of various repair station products and items
+ Ensures that all repair work is performed according to procedures and per correct document revision
+ Assists in the development and implementation of product improvement initiatives
+ Inspects, tests, troubleshoots and repairs shop equipment as required
+ Completes necessary trainings to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performance
+ Performs documentation of all repairs and re-certifications of equipment according to regulatory, customer and departmental requirements
+ Other responsibilities as assigned
+ Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
+ Must be able to read a ruler, micrometer, and calipers. Familiar with the use of hand tools, as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers etc. Must have good eye/hand coordination. Computer skills required such as data input, word documents etc. Must have the ability to read complex instructions, blueprints and schematics.
+ Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes in order to troubleshoot rejects and failures. Possess basic knowledge of electronic testing equipment and their operation. Ability to interpret and follow engineering prototype sketches. Assist in design changes with Engineering. Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as, safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, and Company policies and procedures. Have the ability to clearly communicate with all internal and external customers in English. Attention to detail is a must.
Qualifications:
+ Excellent technical knowledge and skills in product repair
+ Good communication skills both written and verbal
+ Proven troubleshooting skills to component level on complex electronic circuits
+ Ability to recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options
+ Computer proficient
+ Participate in all team meetings
+ Assist in other departments as needed.
+ May perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
