JOB TITLE: Principal Software Engineer

REMOTE TYPE: Office Worker

JOB LOCATION: 3400 W. Plano Parkway Plano, TX 75075 [hybrid position]

DUTIES: Translate the core architecture for business requirements into final technical solutions: platform, network, software, and cloud. Use engineering models and techniques through software development throughout the vertical stack. Lead software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and perform post-production support. Design modular and scalable web components. Lead large cross-organizational software development projects. Utilize current web and micro-service technologies. Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs. Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partner with those teams to elaborate the solution and its interfaces. Develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers. Build high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development. Establish critical NFRs at solution level and participate in definition of others. Drive and participate in code and document reviews and mentor team on best practices. Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements and accurate estimates. Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes that ensure the highest quality and performance is achieved. Troubleshoot code-level problems. Work on the scalability, security, and availability of applications and processes. Contribute to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination by balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements. Support cloud native app development and the adoption of new cloud native technologies. Work on application delivery. Build Java-based high-volume and high- availability e-commerce applications. Build web applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, MVC, Cloud, Hibernate and Oracle Database Systems, Webflux, and REST. Work on performance tuning and application monitoring. Design systems using Micro services architecture. Build monitoring and automation tools using Shell Scripts. Work with Cloud Native Technologies and develop applications for Kubernetes. Build applications, libraries, and migrate applications to public clouds.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems and five (5) years of progressive postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation working on application delivery; building Java-based high-volume and high-availability applications; building web applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, MVC, Cloud, Hibernate and Oracle Database Systems, Webflux, and REST; working on performance tuning and application monitoring; designing systems using Micro services architecture; building monitoring and automation tools using Shell Scripts working with Cloud Native Technologies and developing applications for Kubernetes; and building applications, libraries, and migrating applications to public clouds.

Our Principal Software Engineers earn between $172,200 - $237,400 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
