Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesPosition Summary: As a member of the Plant Quality Team, the Lab Quality Supervisor shall manage the day to day Laboratory operations, in addition to planning and management of employee(s). The Lab Supervisor plans for short and long term improvement, development and growth of the Lab as well as maintains the budgets. The Lab Quality Supervisor will support the quality department activities and promote continuous improvement of current processes.
Responsibilities:
• He/She provides technical support for internal and external customers relating to measuring and testing
• Organize all the measurement and testing activities based on the different programs and production requests
• Develop and maintains systems to ensure integrity of records, analysis of data and reports
• Meet/ exceed budgeted financial expectations for the laboratory by optimizing costs of external calibration or verification
• Ensures all lab staff are adequately competent/ polyvalent to perform all required job functions and that proficiency records are maintained
• Carrying out all PPE and safety rules as required within the laboratory
• Obtains and maintains all related normative and customer specifications related to measurement and testing (ISO, SAE, ASTM, DIN, etc.)
• Understand customer requirements to organize lab procedures, schedules and staffing to meet expectations (control plan, OK 1st piece, annual layout, etc.)
• Verify the capability of the equipment for the characteristic to measure (MSA studies)
• Responsible to maintain the calibration schedule and records of all measuring and test equipment related to Key product characteristic (KPC) and Key control characteristic (KCC)
• Analyze test/ measurement data to determine product conformity
• Recommends measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and needs for new equipment
• Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

• All other duties as assigned by the company
Authorities:
• Request correcting a product in case of product requirement is not met (fit, form, function)
• Take out of service any measuring tool or equipment out of calibration not meeting MSA requirements
• Report to upper management/leadership on product made or shipped with tools and equipment out of calibration. Escalation must be reported immediately to the Plant Quality Manager upon observance of S&R non-compliance
Knowledge / Skills:
• Presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient level of English
• Able to collect, analyze, and present facts and data (MS Office, Minitab, etc.)
• Knowledge of product and process
• Skillful problem-solving techniques to prevent issue reoccurrence
• Customer oriented
• Positive critical thinking behavior
• Primary knowledge of capabilities and limitations of test equipment within the laboratory
Education / Experience:
• Minimum education level: Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 2 years related experience in a laboratory manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred)
• Experience with various Quality system methodologies: 8D, 3 Legs and 5 Why´s, LEAN manufacturing, Pareto analysis and statistical studies
• Highly practiced in Automotive requirements (ISO 9001/ IATF 16949, VDA, IEC 17025, etc.) preferred
• Certified in MSA Core tool from AIAG preferred
• Experienced with OEM customer specific requirements / standards
• Experience with coordinate-measuring machines (CMM)
• Proficient in reading geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
