PDCA - Continuous Improvement Technician
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a PDCA - Continuous Improvement Technician at 7800 Trade Center Avenue in El Paso, TX. The regulary scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:45 pm. The rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** Analyze and execute all the improvement opportunities detected in the Continuous Improvement programs such as: Raising the bar, Safety findings, Kaizen Events, 5S+ Audits, Gemba walk, Problem Solving Initiatives, Corrective and preventive maintenance. This position will also promote participation in continuous improvements among production department employees. + Analysis and implementation of “improvement ideas” generated by Eaton’s associates. + Support in EHS initiatives. + Active participation in Kaizen Events. + Quick jobs (cutting, welding, assembly of structures, etc.). + Installation of guards and basic repairs (corrections) in the production line. + Participate in and promote Continuous Improvement forums. + Support to Value Stream Engineers (according to work plan). + Manufacturing of prototypes, such as guards, fixtures, accessories, worktables, etc. (not mass production). **Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + High school or GED from an accredited institution. + Experience with metal handling and welding. + Experience with basic LEAN manufacturing tools. + Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. + No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Ability to read engineering drawings, understanding of basic CAD and drafting principles. + Ability in the use of engineering and productivity tools (CAD software, Office suite and AS400) + Experience with metal fabrication equipment (operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance) and manufacturing execution systems. + Knowledge of cutting and welding. + Proactive, self-directed, dynamic, enthusiastic and with good analytical skills. + Good interpersonal relationships and good communication. + Sense of urgency. **Skills:** + Ensure that operational controls applicable to your areas are carried out. + Support compliance and monitoring of the Environmental Policy. + Contribute to the achievement of the Environmental Objectives and Goals. + Support in the care of the Environment. + Understand the impacts of Environmental Aspects. + Carry out what is established in the Operational Controls. + Strong organizational, presentation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. + Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format and work with all employees throughout plant. + Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. + Dexterity for and ability to operate equipment, machinery, and computers (including Windows and MSOffice as well as industrial software) + Committed to continuous learning.
