Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Supervise and lead by example to ensure the following are done in a timely and professional mannerMonitoring the progress of customer patching/PCI compliance/Rapid7 scanning/training and developmentPro-actively interpreting, detecting, and resolving technical issues during patching.Working with the patching coordinator to have an accurate issues log for internal escalation.Troubleshooting of technical issues with the productOne to one sessions with the necessary team(s) for development, remaining objective and on point.Planning workload and delegating tasks with given resources.Supporting of any recruitment drives and probationary/ongoing training within the teamAssess team performance and provide feedback to the Operations Manager.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

Overflow and involvement in necessary patching related activity.Answering emails, calls or online chat in a positive and friendly manner.Creating a record of each customer problem and spot trends when applicable.Management of Windows and Linux server operating systemsAssisting our partners and customers with deploying/improvement of the SDS softwarePatching and updating the operating systems and SDS software on SDS AppliancesRemaining PCI compliance as a team and wider SDS platform.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our products, technologies, and our competitors.Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Ideally previous Team Lead or Acting Team Lead experienceOutstanding communication skillsInterpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflictsAttention to detailThe candidate should have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in an IT Operational support role working with Linux operating systemsGood understanding of core internet technologies – Routing/Switching, DNS, DHCP, firewallsExperience working in a customer-facing technical role which requires solid technical aptitude, excellent written and oral communications skills, and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels and in different situations.Strong analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability.Demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.

Desirable experience with these technologies:

NagiosCheckMKApacheCouchDBWindows operating systemsResilient and redundant file systems (ideally ZFS and DRBD, alternatively advanced knowledge of similar such as btrfs, LVM, RAID, CEPH, clustering solutions etc)Shell scripting - ideally BASH, or Python.
