Paintshop Operative (Wet Painter) - Day Shift (40 hours per week)

Paintshop Operative (Wet Painter) – Day Shift Role 

You will be involved in material preparation in accordance with internal specifications while maintaining uninterrupted production according to operational demands, prescribed tolerances, quality standards and safety requirements.

Main responsibilities include:

Preparing surfaces for wet painting by cleaning, blowing down, bunging, sanding and masking as necessary.Mixing of paint products to the correct ratios as instructed in technical data sheets.Even application of wet primers, paints, and wet coatings to parts and components, avoiding over spraying/coating.Complete quality checks in line with company processes; visually inspect work for pinholes, runs, bare spots, proper coverage and refinish as required.Ensure optimum use of materials within your control to minimize scrap / wastage.Be able to use air assisted and airless paint spray pumps.Filling, sanding, and smoothing surfaces that need to be sprayed.Experienced in using & maintaining air-fed respiratory equipment.

Essential Criteria

Minimum of 1 year experience in an industrial production blasting and painting environmentMechanical knowledge to operate power tools and hand tools effectively Ability to maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a commitment to producing high quality finishesStrong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude

Desirable Criteria

Knowledge of various coating types and their applications would be advantageous
