Join a collaborative manufacturing environment responsible for producing Gels used in Life Sciences industries. Our primary responsibilities include completing manufacturing processes in a laboratory setting according to SOPs in Research Use Only (RUO) environments. This involves conducting buffer preparation, casting of Gel cassettes, and packaging of finished products. Additionally, we apply refractometer to ensure real-time and accurate data entry into batch records. Lastly, you will collaborate on important revisions to technical documents, including standard operating procedures and manufacturing batch records.

2nd Shift – Monday through Friday 1:30am-10:00pm PST
A day in the Life:
Reads, understands, and implements written SOP’s, Manufacturing procedures.Performs routine manufacturing/production tasks on different product lines as assigned.Handles and works with carcinogen and chemical reagents.Set-up and operates equipment including casting stations, refractometer, and others related to assigned task.Supervise in-house inventories and supplies including cycle counts and E1 entries.Assists in developing, writing, and instituting documents.Initiates reports related to nonconformances.Solves problems related to the process, troubleshoots, and supports solution generation.Communicates with multiple functional groups with a variety of technical backgrounds.Follows all safety requirements and brings up issues and concerns.Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.Looks for opportunities to improve processes to drive efficiencies.Other duties as assigned.Keys to Success:
Education & Experience
A combination of education and experience that confer the needed manufacturing, scientific, and laboratory technical skills will be considered such as:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience and one (1) year of related manufacturing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong ability to write, investigate SOPs, and other documents in standard English.Proven understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Able to work under critical and shifting timelines while remaining productive.Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious humility, and a ‘can do’ demeanor.Manufacturing experience and machine operator experience.Experience with Good documentation practices.Ability to work overtime and nonstandard work schedules as required to meet production schedule.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Frequently work at laboratory workstation, operating equipment, low-temperature freezers, and computer workstations.Some lifting of objects including laboratory instrumentation of 35 pounds.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements may change as required. Able to lift 40 lbs. or 20 lbs. repetitively throughout the day.Wear a respirator as needed.Attend trainings or read content to understand and follow applicable manufacturing processes and Standard Operating Procedures.The job encounters routine work situations of limited scope and complexity where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in production schedules.Operator is scheduled with a piece of equipment running dual shifts, punctuality is held in the highest regard.Complete production schedule to plan to maintain sufficient output levels measured on an hourly basis.Verbal or written communication of problems to manufacturing leadership and assistance in identifying variables and offering resolutions.Advance equipment issues to the maintenance team through verbal and written communication.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $14.63–$21.95.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
