Operations Manager
**Job Description:** TTI Floor Care North America, has an opening in its Greer, SC warehouse for an Operations Manager that is responsible for supervising the distribution associates, responsible for the receipt, storage, order filling, or loading of inventory as it relates to the daily distribution activities within assigned area(s) of a distribution facility, and has functional responsibility for one large or multiple areas such as receiving, bin or bulk picking & outbound functions. The person filling this position will report directly to the Director of Operations and will supervise a team of hourly distribution associates. The successful candidate must be an initiative-taker, well organized, able to work both independently and as a team member, possess excellent communication and people skills, and be proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Access. Job Responsibilities: Operations: + Supervise all office operations in support of fulfilling customer orders in full and on time. + Coordinate the workforce in designated areas in the most efficient, cost-effective manner. + Ensure effective communication of all key initiatives to encourage a consistent understanding of the reasons for, direction of, and expected results of each initiative. + Collaborate with internal (manufacturing, sourcing, customer service, human resources, other segments, etc.) and external customers as needed to meet business objectives. + Ensure daily business objectives are communicated and met through accountability to processes and methods, identifying and removing obstacles to success. + Employee relations and management: performance reviews, counseling, corrective actions, training, safety, compliance + Assist with reducing employee turnover. + Assist in developing plans for cost reduction, process improvement, and labor hours reduction. + Ensure consistent execution of processes, procedures, and policies. + Assertively seek solutions to the issues or problems + Other duties as assigned. Finance + Assist in controlling expenses. + Ensure accurate and timely record keeping, payroll, and attendance. + Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as inventory accuracy and control, returns, damages, etc. + Proactively manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets. Safety + Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy. + Monitor safe operation of equipment, compliance with safety regulations, and schedule/conduct safety meetings and associate start-up meetings. + Ensure warehouse equipment and vehicles are well-maintained and that housekeeping meets company standards. + Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance. + Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures. People + Effectively manage change within the area of responsibility + Assist with maintaining positive morale and developing the team. + Ensure associates are provided with a positive work environment and all tools necessary for their success. + Recognize individual and team accomplishments. + Develop talent for additional duties and/or promotion opportunities. Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree preferred. + 2-5 years of experience in a distribution environment, preferably with SAP/WMS system experience and inventory management + 2-5 years of supervisory experience + Strong people skills with the ability to influence others at all levels. + Self-confident and professional in interaction with others + Initiative-taking with a strong work ethic + Able to work various shift schedules. + Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus. Environment: This position requires managing dynamic circumstances and having the ability to make sound, independent decisions based on multiple considerations. Must interface and be able to establish cohesive relationships across departments. Must be able to effectively engage with a wide range of personnel under all situations and be both directive and responsive. Communication, interpersonal, planning, organization, and decision-making skills are important. Physical: + May require some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) as well as other moderate physical effort, including bending and stooping. + Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
