Job Responsibilities:

General Job Duties:

To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.To follow Decostar policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.To Understand the employee’s rights under the OSHA Act, EEOC, FLSA and do not allow for discrimination against any employee exercising their rights.Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards.To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace including:  training of new employees, reporting unsafe acts or conditions and correcting or commending health and safety performance.Ensure that all accidents or injuries are reported immediately and actively participate in the accident investigation and completion of all open action items.Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.To exhibit teamwork and leadership skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.Conduct or oversee the Case Management of all Decostar Workers Compensation claims.Manage Workers’ Compensation Claims and HSE Linx accident and incident informational data entry for the Company and may conduct and/or assist in accident investigations overseen by the Safety Team and Decostar Leaders.Work with physicians to evaluate the health of employees.Prepare accident reports for Workers’ Compensation Claims and other purposes.Act as an employee advocate and follow up with physicians to ensure quality care.Ensure compliance with select OSHA safety standards as designated by skills, experience, and the HSE Manager.Lead applicable Decostar Health & Safety elements and oversees the implementation of those elements.Ensure compliance with annual hearing tests, visual acuity/depth perception tests.Assist in training employees in ergonomics and first Aid/CPR. Assists the Site HSE Manager on the Site Ergonomics Program and Ergonomic committee.Conduct onsite post-accident drug screens.Perform Infectious Disease Control Officer duties.Lead hydration program on Fruit/Liquids and Education on Heat Stress and Illness.Participating in Daily Safety hours.Assist with Hazard Assessments for Job Functions.Assist with assigning safety glasses and ear plug fittings for new hires.Counseling employees on physical and mental health issues and concerns and guiding them toward community resources and employee assistance programs.Organizing health fairs, blood drives, vaccination drives.Acting as a gatekeeper for various healthcare services, including rehabilitation and disability matters.Treating, documenting, investigating, and managing work-related injuries and illnesses, including follow-ups and Workers’ Compensation.Scheduling physical exams for new hires and return-to-work.OSHA Recordkeeping.Maintaining medical supplies inventory.Researching the effects of workplace exposures, gathering health and hazard data.Overseeing and implementing emergency and disaster preparedness programs and planning.Developing disease prevention programs, like smoking cessation, exercise, and healthy eating programs

Skills and Experience Required:

Occupational health and safety experience and OSHA training preferred but not necessary.Prior experience with Georgia Workers Compensation case management and claims management as well as federal laws related to Worker’s Compensation, and legislation regarding confidentiality.Ability to analyze and make sound judgements to accurately document and maintain appropriate confidentiality of medical records.Ability to communicate effectively with employees, physicians/medical professionals, and other outside parties.Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suitePossess excellent written communication skills and the ability to document decision, agreements, and orders made.Education:A degree from an accredited nursing school, preferably a Bachelor of Nursing and current registered nursing license in the state of Georgia.3-5 years of Clinical Nursing experienceAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
