NA Procurement Packaging Director – Fiber

Transforming our PepsiCo Procurement function will create new sources of value, including: Sustained step up in productivity Breakthrough innovation in partnership with key strategic suppliers Acceleration against pep+ targets, in particular in packaging and Scope 3 GHG reductions Destination for top talent for sustained performance and delivery This position is responsible for the strategic sourcing of North America (NA) Fiber Packaging category (Paperboard, cups and cannisters), ensuring commercial line-up of supplier partnerships and agreements to support PepsiCo’s P&L growth agenda via supply assurance, innovation, productivity, and sustainability. Supports with executive interfacing to drive strategic agenda across bottles category for Gatorade, Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD), Lipton, Starbucks, and other iconic brands. Responsibilities Develop the strategic sourcing strategy for NA Fiber Category spend of ~ $600MM to ensure commercial line-up of supplier partnerships and contracts which ensure below. Accountable for making decisions and executing the contracts/negotiations (with support and leadership from direct reports). Responsible for delivering 1-5 year long term end-to-end bottle strategy with keen eye on: Short / Long Term capacity planning in line with business growth objectives Develop, Implement, and Execute productivity for AOP and Long term PepsiCo Strategic Plan (PSP) pipeline/ideation comprised of Value Engineering & innovative compressible spend reductions to deliver up to 4% YOY productivity (some potential drivers: harmonization, new technologies / innovations, alternative suppliers / supply chains, vertical integration, etc. with support of direct reports). Scouting and building converter supply chains where required to meet business Units (BU) objectives for innovation, new technologies, supply assurance, sustainability, etc. Develop team of high functioning SME’s capable of leveraging deep category expertise, supply market expertise, and competitive landscape to drive PepsiCo NA objectives. Develop team objectives, development plans, and talent pipeline. Interface with cross-functional leadership to drive BU agenda. Interface with procurement Material Supply teams to understand the business growth needs and translate these into actionable plans to deliver supply Develop strategic partnerships with actionable strategic objectives for suppliers Partner with Senior Leaders on Top to Top meetings Contract negotiation: RFP, Negotiate, & Execute Contract Identify and build supplier capability and use metric to improve supplier performance (KPI, scorecards, etc.) Supply: Lead mature category with high complexity, strict quality requirements across a diverse set of technologies. Lead team to deliver estimated plan growth (2-5yr), develop + implement Business Continuity plan (alternative supply chains / suppliers, etc.) to drive agility and ensure supply. Productivity: Develop, Implement, & Execute AOP Lead team to develop Pepsico Strategic Plan (2-5yr) - Sustainable P&L cost of goods sold unlocks to reduce Total cost of Ownership end to end aligned with BU objectives (up to 4% YOY reduction) Lead developing & maintaining/step-up in productivity pipeline. Requires significant new unlocks in productivity – i.e. new technologies, new entrants (requires supplier development or expansion, spec harmonization & alignment, vertical integration, new substrates, etc.) Innovation: Enable PepsiCo’s future innovation plans through supplier development & scouting of new suppliers and next generation technologies Sustainability: Lead team to ensure converters achieve PEP sustainability objectives and build converter capabilities to achieve objectives Lead team to scout for diverse suppliers - Minority/Women owned business enterprise (MWBE) supply chains and build PSP of MWBE opportunities. Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 - $249,900. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually. and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period. Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or another related field. Master’s in business administration preferred. Experience: 10+ years of work experience in procurement, packaging, supply chain, operations, or other relevant experience, ideally in the food and beverage industry, and ideally with extensive experience and understanding of CPG supply chains.
