As the Multi-Site HSE&S Manager, you will provide strategic and tactical leadership in developing and implementing site health, safety, environmental, and security (HSE&S) programs and Responsible Care® initiatives at the Wickliffe and Brecksville sites. These sites serve as the hub for Lubrizol’s corporate office campus, including R&D and testing labs, and pilot plant facilities. You will ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate and industry standards, aligning with Lubrizol’s Corporate Philosophy and Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policy.

 

What You Will Do:

Manage health, safety, environmental, and security compliance for the sites by overseeing programs, initiatives, and metrics in support of RCMS /RC14001 and company goals. Manage department staff to execute processes and policies to ensure site compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Lead department staff through regular engagements and create an enriching work environment with job assignments to support growth and development. As a key member of the site staff team, you will work in partnership with functional leaders in Engineering, Maintenance, Integrated Facilities Management, and Administration to ensure seamless integration and alignment of efforts. Manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet HSE&S objectives. Provide leadership to identify, prioritize, develop, implement, and align multi-site activities to support HSE&S goals and objectives. Provide leadership to drive accountability with standard work practices and procedures, supporting a culture of continuous improvement with health, safety, environmental & security performance. Actively engage site personnel by providing support with regulatory compliance and development of solutions related to safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, security, training, incident investigations and recordkeeping. Represent Lubrizol HSE&S in community activities as appropriate.

 

Skills That Make a Difference

Bachelor’s degree in safety & health management, environmental health, occupational health, industrial hygiene, science, engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years in the chemical industry, with at least 3 years managing cross-functional teams (preferably across multiple sites). Knowledgeable and proficient in safe work practices, including OSHA regulations, auditing, record-keeping, investigation, root cause analysis, industrial hygiene, regulatory permitting, and training delivery. Experience in leading industrial safety and health programs (RCMS / RC14001). Exceptional leadership and people management abilities, inspiring and motivating teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving operational excellence and process improvements. Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at engaging stakeholders at all levels, and building relationships with site leaders, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and adhering to timelines. Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Certified Safety Profession (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred but not mandatory.
