Systems Specialist - Modelling and Simulation
An opportunity has arisen to join our Guidance, Control and Simulation team within the Systems Engineering group, working on the design and development of innovative technical solutions that meet customer requirements and business needs.
The role will involve the development of models of key (sub)systems throughout the product lifecycle for:
Solution conceptingSubsystem trade studiesGuidance algorithm development and implementationControl actuation systemsLaunch platforms and fire control systemsHardware In The Loop testingPerformance prediction and trials analysisThe successful candidate will have specialist knowledge in at least one of the key areas listed below and will be expected to lead the modelling and simulation activities for a given product or solution:
Matlab / Mathworks toolsetFlight dynamicsMissile guidanceAutopilot designMotor controlDynamic mechanical modellingData fusion techniquesAlgorithm implementationReal time simulationSkills, qualifications or experience
A relevant degree in a numerate or engineering discipline, or significant commensurate experienceExperience of development and validation of (sub)system models, preferably in an industrial environmentRobust analytical skills and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to analyse complex information and develop solutions on time and on budgetSelf-motivated, and capable of working on your own initiativeExperience of mentoring/skills developmentGood verbal, written and technical presentation skillsMembership of relevant professional body#LI-CA1
